He got in the way of Jakob’s minutes. Him being gone finally got Jakob to play a good stretch of basketball. The front office shouldn’t have had to pay 16 million for a third string big
Honestly, this is getting overblown. He was barely even playing. Spurs are elite at home+really good when White is healthy and suck on the road+really bad when White is out. He really had nothing to do with the ty RRT or this strong homestand, tbh.

The home vs away performance is a valid argument.
But if you've ever played even one year of compe ive basketball (or sports in general) you do know how much of a psychological burden it is for a team to have a player complaining about playing time in it's roster.
Team loses confidence, young players feel threatened, coaching staff is put in a corner and the team ultimately malfunctions in multiple levels.
Poeltl has been a good addition, you have to admit that much. I don't think that happens with Pau here. It seems like Pop felt like he had to give Pau the minutes - out of respect or something? The first Game Pau was gone was the first game Poeltl started. (I don't remember if the buyout was final or not, but Pau was a DNP.) It's been a pretty monumental shift, even counting the fact that White came back.
Pop was giving Pau token minutes to see if someone would bite into a trade. Even those few minutes ed with the entire chemistry of the team, imho.
I don't care if he wasn't playing. Just looking over at that Spanish on the bench must have been a downer for all the guys tbh.
We can all agree that he was overpaid but that's not really relevant to on the court stuff. Regarding Poetl, Gasol had already been phased out before he got bought out. This wasn't an Enrique type of situation, where he was still getting big minutes despite being done. Gasol was pretty insignificant by the end and to use his departure as a reason (even a small one) for why the team is playing so well discredits the team and guys like White, tbh.

exactly right. Plus it was Pop's courtesy to a HOFer. Very glad he is gone.
It was definitely addition by subtraction with Pau... Poeltl is averaging 25 mpg in March and 23 mpg post ASG. His season average is 16 mpg. Eight or nine more minutes of mobility per game is huge.
So glad he won't retire a spur. He can dignify the Bucks locker room.
Maybe it was all the estrogen he was oozing onto the other guys.
Pau out for a month I read on BR with “ankle injury “
Milwaukee Bucks center Pau Gasol will miss the rest of the regular season with an injured left ankle, ESPN reported Saturday.
Gasol is expected to miss about a month. That timetable would allow him to return at some of the point in the postseason, depending how far the NBA-best Bucks (54-19) advance.
Gasol joined Milwaukee less than three weeks ago after reaching a buyout with the San Antonio Spurs. He has played in just three games for the Bucks, averaging 1.3 points and 3.3 rebounds.
In 30 overall games this season, Gasol is averaging career lows of 3.9 points and 4.6 rebounds.
Gasol's injury comes after the Bucks recently lost guard Malcolm Brogdon (foot) and forward Nikola Mirotic (fractured thumb).
The 38-year-old Gasol is a six-time All-Star.
Dude needs to retire
May explain the extreme drop in his production.
Kind of strange, though...pictures floated out just a few days ago of him putting up shots. Wonder if this was planned or if he had another setback.
Highlight of the season imo.
