Are you talking about the chest for each area? Its fine. You can redo areas over and over again to open chest but iirc you cant do that before the valkyrie fight
Lady butterfly was disappointing. Mini bosses have been more challenging Imo

I one tried lady butterfly. But right now two days fighting one of the main antagonist and still dying. Must have died 40 times now. Also struggled with the horse guy. Took me maybe 25 tries
Welp third day and still struggling with this boss.
My thumb is numb from pressing the deflect/block button.
Total of maybe 6 hrs and best ive done is get him half life in his final form.
Maybe abother day.
Don’t sweat it baseline bum.
Head over to “lost items” in the pause menu. Or is it while you’re in the shop.
Left over items you fail to pick up get stored up in that one tab.
I got to half way past of bloodbrone and i dont think ive enoucntered anyone this difficult. In bloodbrone dodge is always an option.
This game forces you to aggressive in a whole another level.

You guys have any luck getting Anchor of Fog to drop in Niflheim? I didn't even get that when beating the valkyrie there and need three for the realm tears but have zero after doing a ton of fighting in Niflheim.
They're random IIRC. Just keep clearing Nilfheim and you'll get them eventually.
Its pretty random. Just keel fighting in nif
its not random iirc, you just have the learn the niflheim map. this one below is really good. you basically want to get to left field/right field and thats where you'll get the best items. also, have you routinely been able to open up the nornir chest that always spawns in the starting area? there should always be one nornir chest at "home base" and there's always one randomly generated in one of the 4 gaps between the "bases"

They're random. I managed to get extras farming mist echoes in separate runs.
You're more likely to find them if you do a full maze run. When you're done with a path, dont just go outside to save the mist echoes. Instead, continue to the other path, kill everything and then make your way back.
That way you kill two birds with one stone, tons of mist echoes (Which you'll need a lot of anyways) and the probability of finding an anchor of fog increases.
EDIT:
Just for the of it I fired up the game to see if I still had spares and I do. It'd be nice if this game had a Gran Turismo like feature that allowed players to exchange items.

I have cleared Left Field four or five times and nothing, but I always raced there instead of fighting through the first two rooms on the way there.
. I can't do multiple rooms when revenants spawn. Hard to block their poison while fighting everything else off.![]()
There is a way to know which enemies will respawn once you enter the first room.
If you get the witches in the first room, you’ll get them throughout that run. If you get wolves then same thing applies.
If the annoying witches appear in the first room, go back out and then enter again until you get an enemy you’re comfortable with fighting.
Nice. Thanks for the heads up![]()
eventually you get familiar enough where you're able to complete full laps... which you basically have to do if you want to open the nornir chest that always shows up at "home plate"
you have to remember the runes and then there will be one turnstile thing at each of 1st/2nd/3rd base such that when you lap back to "home" the nornir will be unlocked
and yes i can concur that revenants were THE most difficult characters to encounter in niflheim. dark elves were probably second. wulver's can do a ton of damage, but they're generally easier to deal with. are you using the niflheim armor set? its pretty crucial if you want to do the full lap like i was talking about, as each piece increases your resistance to the fog, and they're solidy statted as well
also forgot to mention the best reason to play niflheim is to get the last "frozen flame" to upgrade your axe to level 6 without needing ng+. same with muspelheim to acquire the last chaos flame. dno if you picked up on that yet

woah, i never noticed that enemy types repeat like that. i'll have to remember that next time i plan on playing GOW
nice, i see you were also rocking sindri's breasplate. it looks ugly as imo, and i never associate kratos with ing teal or whatever that is. but its the best piece of armor in the game imho.
luckily on NG+ the enchanced version of sindri's breastplate is silver, so it doesnt look tacky as

Silver does look better.
Before that I was using the golden one..forget the name but it had Valkyrie in its name.
I decked myself in Sindri’s armor because it was the only other one I had the full set of and it boosted all my stats incredibly. Got as far as level 8 before platting it.
havent tried NG+ yet.
NG+ is worthwhile. there's new Red tier gear which is nice. enemies are at a higher level than regular NG. playing on GMGOW difficulty actually feels balanced because you start the game with solid equipment, you have the blades from the start, all your runics, etc.
also the valkyrie fights are substantially harder. their moves are different on NG+, at least of GMGOW difficulty.
one of the cool features of NG+ is that you can actually convert certain talismans and armor sets into enchantments. for example the amulet of kvalsir, that activates realm shifts on perfect dodges. if you level it up all the way, you can turn it into an enchantment, so you can use another talisman in its place while not losing the effect. there are also 3 armor sets you can do (ancients/tyr/traveller) which give you some stats but also the perks of those sets. ie for the ancients set, you gain 85% resistance to burn/forst/poison. as an enchantment, thats pretty nuts.
plus all the red tier talismans have 3 enchantment slots so you can be using a total of 12 (3 for each armor piece, 3 for talisman). your character gets pretty ing strong which is why i'd recommend god of war difficulty
there are also genuinely new sets like COD of war, ares armor, and the valkyries give you Zeus armor which has a pretty crazy effect... though the fact that you get it so late means you'd basically need a second NG+ playthrough to use them
I'm using the Ivaldi's Deadly Mist set but don't have anything in it upgraded. It seems like the mist resistance is hugely improved with the full set vs just having two items. I have the axe fully upgraded and have gotten up to the Muspelheim valkyrie but not fought it yet since I want to have full rage. Prob just go die in Niflheim, get revived by the rage stone, by another, and then go fight the valkyrie with full rage.
I haven't bothered with that chest of nornir in niflheim since I figured it would take a complete cycle around the bases to complete.
mhm, and the annoying part is you have to keep the 3 runes in the back of your mind, since you dont really have time to come back, remember the runes, then go back and spin the wheels. theres also always 1 additional nornir chest somewhere, but the 3 spinners are all usually right there in that same segment, with 1 of them usually being a really long shot that you have to carefully aim for
Ah ing . I killed the valkyrie in Muspelheim and found out I have to do six more challenges before getting the Muspelheim trophy. Those Muspelheim trials are easily my least favorite part of the game.
Tbe trials after beating the valkyrie..brutal..i mean some are fairly easy but theres a couple there that I would just avoid
Iirc you dont have to redo everything to get the trophy or was that for a reset on item. I cant remeber.
i disliked muspelheim quite a bit. between the two i preferred niflheim. it was more of a rush and felt more rewarding with the chests you constantly open.
but once you beat the valkyrie, you unlock the "impossible" trials. you dont have to do all of them though. complete any of the 3 impossible trials and you'll get 3 keys needed for surtrs hidden challenge (which you access at the top where the valkyrie was). the best thing you get in muspelheim imo is surtr's grip of the flame. its arguably the best axe pommel. once you have that there isnt really much of a need to grind for anything there.
pro tip for the "enemies regenerate health quickly" challenges is to not aim to kill them via damage. use boy's stun arrows and just melee them so you can get the R3 instakill. it just gets annoying when a dark elf blinds you and then you fall into the cycle of getting blinded
