Warriors are trying to avoid playing the Rockets in the second round. If the Rockets are the 3 seed then they are going to try to get the number 1 seed. So I can't see them tanking that game.

Because they know it's going to be a tough series that can go 7 games again in which they could possibly lose. It's also a series where they can be worn down by attrition early on. You don't want a hard match up before the WCF. Think about how the Spurs got ed over in '06 by playing the Mavs in the second round.
Will be interesting to see if the Dubs tank intentionally to try and draw the Spurs in the 1st. OKC is in a downward spiral but the Spurs would obviously be an easier matchup for Golden State. I don't think they care too much about HCA against the Nuggs so I see them tanking tbh.
Nuggets have owned OKC all year so I think they'd prefer the Thunder though I doubt they are that scared of a terrible road team like the Spurs.
Obviously if you're a Spurs fan, you're praying to the heavens to draw Denver so the 1st round exit isn't as embarrassing but they're still going to need a good amount of luck to avoid the Warriors tbh.....
Sorry to crush your hopes but he's expiring in 2021, not next season. Should get rid of him ASAP
I was saying after next season he'll have an expiring contract, and that might let the Spurs get out from under without having to cough up another asset. I just said I don't think they can do that with 2 years left.
Watching this team perform lately i don't think its gonna matter anyway, we don't look good to put it nicely.
But...but... what about the fans?
Once it became clear that the Clippers were actually improved post trade deadline, these losers were always going to finish 8th. It doesn't matter how much the Thunder leave the door open because they'll always find a way to lose the game they have to have.
It's way too tempting for them to embarrass themselves against the (declining) Warriors again.
Lol called it two days ago. PATFO accomplished their offseason goal of being just good enough squeek into the playoffs. If their assholes get stuffed once again by alpha Bob Myers, they wont care
Nuggets play at Warriors tonight. After they probably lose and accept that they're likely the 2 seed, I wouldn't put it past Malone, who's brash enough to do it, to sit some key players tomorrow, in an attempt to increase the odds of the Spurs finishing 7th.
Even though the Nuggets swept the Thunder and they're reeling, I'd imagine them and all top few seeds, would prefer the Spurs.
I also wouldn't put it past the genius to also sit some key players tomorrow, so he can pretend rest is more important than seeding, even though their only hope of winning a round is to finish 7th.
Man Spurs basically have to win out Tough game tomorrow Nuggets
Thunder have one remaining tough bcak2backv Rockets Bucks hopefully both loses
The Nuggets are losing to GS tonight.
A loss means GS has a magic number of 3 against Denver with 10 games (between them) to play -- the Nuggets are now pretty much locked into the #2 seed and should have little to play for in tomorrow's back-to-back with the Spurs.
The Spurs, on the other hand, will have a lot to play for in tomorrow's game. That's about the best spin you can put on it.
You right Road Team>>>>>>>>>>>>>>SpursthisYear
Houston can still take their #2 spot.. they HAVE to try to win tomorrow.
Nope Houston three more loses than Nuggs
2 more losses... why are you not counting tonight? Denver has Spurs then Portland twice then Utah... Houston can take the #2 spot dude
They probably will, in fact. They are rocking, and Denver is not as sharp as it was a month ago.
#2 seed is very attractive, I guess HOU will try to get it. Which is good for SA since HOU plays OKC.
Maybe 2 wins will be enough to keep the #7, but most probably we need 3 wins.
We can only afford one loss and thats today against Denver. I see OKC losing only to Houston because Bucks will most probably play their G-league the last game.
There is no way we are gonna lose only once and that means we are married with the 8th spot and our annual sexual manipulation by the Dubs.
It is what it is.
Hopefully they use lube this time.
Spurs going 3-1 probably ends up being enough. If OKC loses 1 of their final 4 games then both teams end up tied and the Spurs have the tie breaker. I could see OKC losing that Houston game.

Lube no lube we're getting used to it and thats the worst part, we might actually like it by now.
