Before Durant this dogface was the original "breathe on him and draw 2 free throws" mongerer. Ponies and Jewban endorsed it, too.

I for one won't miss this choker.

Hopefully the Mavs let Dirk start, play 40 minutes and chuck away, Kobe style.

Kobe Da Best actually carried his team back from 14 down with 4 minutes left and they won that game... Kobe retired with grace, Derp is washed up s .

Them winning their last game puts their first round pick in play for Atlanta. They are now at 6 in the lottery and need to be a top 5 to keep their pick. Winning against us makes their chances of keeping their top 5 pick even worse. That overtime win might give Atlanta a top 6 pick. Strange they fought so hard to win that meaningless game with the negative ramifications so high.

Optimistic me: Since they won the game, that gives them even more incentive not to try against the Spurs.

Pessimistic me: If they were really focused on the pick, they wouldn't have won the game in the first place.

    This.
    Farking evil NBA is evil.
Clippers blowing 12 point 3rd quarter lead to Flakers. This after losing the night before too thus letting OKC and the Spurs pass them up. Doesn't pass smell test.

I've heard talk of that throughout the season. maybe so-called journalists spouting BS.

Dirk at 40, is greatly diminished after 20+ years. I, for one, would not regret his retirement. His athleticism has never been at Manu's and Vince's level. He runs like he's got rickets. I love the guy, been a great career.

Yeah. Weird that a poster would start a game thread.

    I ing hated Dirk pre-2011.....

The emergence of the LeBron-era Heat and the Warriors gave me a newfound appreciation for Dirk and the battles with the 2000s Mavs. , even the Kobe/Pau Lakers weren't as gy as those two super teams tbh.....

Not gonna lie, I wasn't mad when the 2011 Mavs rang and that was mostly because of Dirk....

Hope we win (we need it!). That said, Dirk has always been a class act. He hasn't even said this is his last game because maybe he doesn't even want all the rah rah last year victory tour crapola. I wish him well.

Exactly this. Although I hated him in a different way than I hate Durant. Kind of a respect hate.

As long as we win, he could score 60.

As a player/person I rate Dirk as high as Timmy ... comparing him to bags like Kevin Durant is laughable.

Is it confirmed that he will retire?

I've no idea how good or bad Timmy and Dirk are as people in their private lives, thought they both seem like very good persons. They are certainly good teammates. But strictly as a player Dirk wasn't in Timmy's class. TD was a monster on defense, Dirk was someone who had to be hidden.
