I don't have an issue with Kane as a player, but it's true that Son has more freedom without him..he's one of the most underrated scorers in the world, there aren't many that can score from either side and on either foot as well as he does..

I dont think its limited to son. It's difficult to have a long term successful gameplan in 2019 with a more typical Forward. Kane is a great player, but he's a guy that would flourish in the R9, Batistuta era. Sure, he's a good hold up player but a no.9 as your maim focal point in the offense limits overall creativity.
Heck R9 was a master runner, second striker.
The way teams are setup in the modern era and the more prominent pressing philosophy opens ridiculous amount of space if your team is filled with Winger/Strikers.
A player like kane can still be great in the modern era, but they need to be utilized the same way as Aguero, Suarez, Benzema etc. Where scoring goals for them is of equal priority to creating space for others.
Thats the biggest problem with Kane. He doesnt want to be like that. If he plays like that, guys like Ericksen would have so much more passing options etc.
In short, he's given way too much privilage in the pitch. Far beyond that of his actual ability.

City was dominating after Kane was injured, Son screwed his first touch, the goalie came out, Son made a wonderful reversal and deftly banged the ball at a goalie too close to react properly.
Conclusion:
This of course was because Kane was injured.

Ericksen and Son both got great passes from Kane. Spurs best moments against MC came wth all on. Sons goal was a mistake turned into a goal. It happens. It was against the run of play MC was close to choking them off from possession.
