All that needs to happen is for Pop to come in with a legit plan to limit Jokic, and the Spurs can steal a game. Once you steal one game, you get HCA, and SA is a pretty strong bet to hold it if they get it. But that game-plan is critical, because no only is the best game to steal the first one, but I have less faith in Pop making proactive adjustments to steal a later game than I do him coming up with a good plan beforehand.
That's interesting because since the 2014-15 season, the Spurs have dropped at least one home game in every single series not including the memphis grizzlies. They actually managed to gain and lose HCA twice against the Clippers and OKC, dropping 2/3 home games in rout to a pair of series losses.

If the Spurs play like they did on the RRT, they could lose four in a row to anyone. But when they're playing well, I wouldn't pick anyone to win four in a row against them - not even the Dubs. A lot depends on which Spurs team shows up.

If you're talking about "stealing" a game in Denver, the Spurs' road record says that they would have to be the best version of themselves. But it's the NBA. Every game is up for grabs. That's why they play them.

BTW - it seems like most people are talking about Denver in 6. Well the 6th game, if there is one, will be in SA. It's hard to eliminate a team from the playoffs on the road - they talk about that all the time. The Spurs likely lose this series. But I'd pick 5 games or 7 games before I bet on them losing a Game 6 at home.
I can't speak about other people cause i obviously have no idea what their thought process is but honestly the only reason i think it's gonna be Denver in 6 IF we lose is the fact that i believe that there isn't gonna be a game 7.

For two reasons, one is gonna make sense and the other one is semi re ed.
I think the team that gets first to 3 w's is as good as qualified to round 2.

If it's the Nuggets,i totally expect to see a really bad performance from DDR in a win or go home game and very energetic performances from the Denver youth with the psychological advantage on their side.
If it's us up 3-2 (3-1 to 3-2,or 2-2 to 3-2 doesn't matter) i expect the Nuggets to crumble under pressure and lose the 6 in SA.

As for the semi re ed reason.
When i checked the betting lines this morning i really didn't like the value of the 4-3 Denver win series. It's priced as the 2nd favorite outcome and my gut instinct said it's betting bait.

By the way early line in Europe for gm1 is Denver -5.5.

Because it's the Denver Nuggets, a franchise that's done absolutly nothing in the NBA. i'm telling you there is a chance.

According to Vegas, the series price for the Spurs is currently +210. The only lower seed with a better series price is actually favored. Thunder -140. So even Vegas believes this will be a series.

Vegas thinks OKC will win in 6 so i won't count that as an upset.

Spurs best chance at a 1st round upset followed by Jazz and Pacers.

All other series are improbable longshots betting wise (Favorite teams with zero betting value)

No breaking news but game 1 should indeed be big. Denver isn't battle tested and it might take them at least one game to get in PO mode and understand what different animal it is... including Malone.

    I think LMA should deliver.

Giving that we can all agree Spurs will need a performing DDR, the x factor might Gay.
If he can be the dominant force he has been at the start and middle end of the season, Spurs are in good shape. This is Rudy's year... his first real PO last year were ruiined by #2 show, I'm expecting him to step up.

I think White should be OK, he showed he's not afraid and Beli should have a few nooooyeah! shots along with Bertans hitting a few big ones too hopefully...

So yeah, Game 1 is big.
Rudy just needs to be steady. I think the real key is White. If we get the White that played during the winning streak and the last 3 games, then we should be okay. Bryn is also a real x-factor. People don't appreciate how incredibly hot he has been the last +/- 10 games. If he keeps shooting like that, and doesn't make dumb passes or fouls, then we do have a legit shot.

Yes, the game plan is critical, thank you! I don't think anyone thought of that. AND you are way off thinking Pop is not capable making adjustments. One of his former players Jefferson, just said he is one of the best at that.

What's the point of being a "fan" of a team if you just want to all over them?

I don't understand the "joy" of being a miserable fan.

Everyone knows what this team is. No need to try and on people who want to actually enjoy fanhood instead of being a dime-a-dozen clowns battling for use of the most tired-ass schtick on the board. You're not an expert because you predict the obvious on a 50-50.

I guess expecting defeat hurts less if or when it comes.

This year's Nuggets team is a very capable team. They can easily win over this version of the Spurs who don't even play defense tbh
Spermfan don’t believe a team whose best player is white can win tbh.

Game 1 will be very important for the outcome of this series. Spurs have been locked in the last 3 games and kept lead from the first quarter til the end. I expect Pop to come out with a good game plan, since Denver basically showed how they will defend us in the last game where Pop got tossed. Steal game 1 and we got a good shot of winning in 6

I believe in a good game plan.
    the concerns are:

    1. Late game execution
    2. Which type of DDR we will get

    1. We should have an advantage there, since this Nuggets Team has never been to the Playoffs before
    2. true but Denver doesn't have a player that can lock him down. He folded against LeBron and won't have to play him this time

I think we will lose but we can make it a long series.

Denver has athletic wings and guarding athletic wings is a major issue for our squad. I honestly think at home we can win our 2 games and if some how we are to win one in Denver their inexperience could seriously come into play

That's no longer relevant. The roster is too different now.

They're talking about the tendency of the past 2 years.

Doesn't matter to me though. Nuggets will likely end the series in 5 games.
