Oddly throwing his bench under the bus. Why make excuses? Just go out and prove you are the better team. I guess it doesn't help matters that a guy in the G-League last year was the one that led the Spurs to victory.
Malone has been over-complementary to the Spurs since the start of the series.

Already has pretty much said to the media that Pop is the better coach (obvious) with more rings, and that the Spurs bench is better than his own.

It's like he is prepping himself for a loss instead of pumping his team up for a win. Weird flex, but okay.

I hope the Spurs don’t double Jokic as much as they did in the game 1. The nuggets had a lot of wide open misses from it. Don’t see them going 6-28 from three again.
I think Pop starts with the strategy but changes it up if needed. If it isn't broke, don't fix it...and if it breaks, make them figure out the new gameplan on the fly.

Why are the Spurs doubling jokic? I'd rather they force him to score. He's not really interested in that. He'd much rather have 10 assists than 30pts.

I hope popovich switches it up this game. Don't let Murray get comfortable and keep jokic from doing what he likes to do best, passing.
Yeah and I don't buy this notion that they (specifically Aldridge) have no chance to adequately defend him 1 on 1, at least relative to most.

Hes out Popping Pop. Pop is the master of praising the opposition. Especially during the playoffs.

I just want Bertans to keep being Bertans in the playoffs, not Davis Bonner, tbh.

Pop will double Jokic until it stops working. That's just the way Pop is. And even then I've seen Pop refuse to make adjustments until it's too late.

Is this a different approach after Kawhi? A special effort to keep injured players involved?
I don't think it is, Kawhi was just refusing to be with the team

How is Cousins' injury NOT season-ending? There's now talk that he could come back before the Finals.

Rockets should've eliminated their asses last year too. But they are the only team that can beat them, especially if Cousins is still out by then. One local source in the SF Bay Area has Kerr saying he's even hoping Cousins is back in 3 weeks. I don't recall quad tears recovering THAT quickly.

Not a chance he comes back this season coming off a blown Achilles and now a torn quad. He’s about to be a FA he can just ride the bench and get his ring and leave this offseason lol.

If this were Tim AND Manu playing tonight i'd think we'd have a chance but playoff masters Aldridge and DeFrozan are probably happy with the split

Tim and Manu wouldn't mind losing a Game 2 if they won Game 1 and being pulled early in a blow out, especially during their old years as they went full CIA Pop and thought long-term, slow dismantling of the other team.

We have to be honest, we're not surviving today playing the same defense we played last time.

If both Tim and Manu were playing we'd have home court advantage.

Have to come out ready from the start and get this crowd out of the game. Also get LA more touches deep in the post.
