Love and agree 100% with the grades

I especially agree with the part about Pop trotting out the trio of Mills, Marco, Rudy, Davis and Jacob. Pop has got to do a better job of keeping Forbes, Mills, and Marco off the court together against overly athletic back court and wings because they are horrendous on defense

I think pop listened to ST over the day break. More minutes for starters, less for patty and beli.

So happy pop is confident in Jacob. He’s got all the tools to be a very good piece for the spurs moving forward.

If that was a D- performance by Fifty last night I'd hate to see what an F would be.

I think it's time for Pop to admit that D White is a significant level above any bench guys and to start giving him true starter minutes. Duncan played over 40 mpg in the playoffs in '99, '03, and '05. He played 37 mpg in the '07 finals. White-- who's not yet 25-- can handle 35 mpg. The drop off defensively is just too great when Mills or Belinelli are in. The Spurs are up 2-1, but Mills & Beli are both registering negative results while on the floor, while White has had the impact of a legit star.

Derozan's tantrums are getting old. I think he did very good tonight, but he needs to stop crying when he doesn't get a call.

Gay has probably some physical problem, he is so stiff. Unfortunately he needs to play against Denver, as Bertans has no favorable matchup. Marco too doesn't seem OK, hopefully they'll feel better shortly.

White obviously had a gret game, that somehow hide another terrible performance by DDR. Sure, DeMar made some shots in the third (some where pretty bad and went in anyway) but he was worse than Beli on defense. And again, his insisting on his slow-dribbling iso played right into Denvers gameplan. If White doesn't have a monster game we lose this one too.

I don't know if it just an out of tune rotation or a mental thing or what, but those runs have to be mitigate if not fully prevented. It seems that lately every team we face can have easy runs of 10-15 points in a couple minutes. This is killing us.

We'll see if Denver makes soem adustments to contain White, if that's the case LMA should have wide open space inside after each P+R, and/or a ton of corner threes available for whomever will be on the floor -that could actually bring back some confidence for Mills and maybe Bertans.

    Can't wait for next game.

To me thats what separates him from being a top top echelon player. The mental part really s with his game. When he’s aggressive and not taking every bump personal, he’s a really good player. And a side note, at least he shows emotion unlike nephew with is tongue in his cheek and dead stare

He's maybe even playing too many minutes, remember he has some plantar strain nagging him. Also Denver is choosing to be more aggressive on LMA, DDR and limit 3-point shots especially from Forbes and Beli. Hopefully we'll need White to be healthy and springy for about 18-20 more games....

I feel a few of the calls against Gay were iffy at best. You could see his frustration, good that he kept his composure and didn't get a technical. His game is off right now. So, I just want him to give us the hustle stuff....crash the boards, block out, play pesky defense, and attack the rim to get to the line. His FTs were huge yesterday, so at least he can contribute that way, until his shot starts falling again.

Mills is worse than trash in this series. He might as well be an undercover Nugget the way he is playing. Can a seasoned NBA vet, with tons of playoff experience really be this bad and inept? Sheesh, it is horrible and offensive to watch. If he were a thoroughbred, he would be put down by now. I love his leadership and towel waving, but maybe he should do that for 48 a night, instead of being the main culprit in blowing two 19 point leads and one 16 point lead.

Beli is killing me as well. He offers worse than zero D, I'm talking negative D. His offense has been as sporadic as a married man's sex life. He is the Robin to Mills' Batman, as far as extreme suckage in this postseason goes.

White is a stud. Forbes is playing his ass off and is doing pretty good on both end. LMA and DD are getting better with each game from an overall execution standpoint.

All in all, we should be up 3-0, as we are clearly dominating the series. We just need to continue to take care of our business and the series will be ours in 5 games.

Thanks Timvp. Great great win. White is gonna be a star. The whole league will know him after this series, and will get a spot on the All Defensive Team. Man, this guy is good. He plays an old man’s game, so composed, knowing exactly when and how to attack, and he keeps attacking. His defense on Murray was spot on. Aldridge needs to get back to drive again in the middle where he was successful. He had only 2 FT. And please close out on Jokic 3pt. The guy can shoot. Or to Barton or Harris or Millsap. They need to switch and keep a closeup on 3. I think Spurs can switch on them. Keep posting low Rudy. You’re unstoppable man. Agree on avoiding Mills/Belli/Bertans combo. Not on a better team like Nuggets who will exploit that. I wish Lonnie can get some of those minutes when they’re ahead. Let’s keep the foot on the pedal and take pivotal game 4 on 3-1 lead. GSG!

    Thanks for the grades TimVP.

I think the Spurs found a formula tonight to beat the Nuggets that Denver can't counter. Attack Murray and Jokic in pick & rolls and get to the rim. ...
Right on. If they can draw Jokic out on defense, to the free throw line or beyond, they can beat him to the rim every time. Jokic is a good player, there are some things he can do, but he is not quick.

Nope, keep him ON the floor. First of all, I think he’s overrated. Great player, but overrated. Second, the Nuggets play faster and more furiously with him on the bench. Kind of like Rudy, this isn’t the series for JockItch. While he was benched, the Nugs took a 10 point lead. They brought him back in, and instantly the Spurs brought it back. And IIRC, this has been the case the whole series

I think Nuggets will try not doubling LA as much in Game 4 and focus more on White and DDR. This will be the time for Aldridge to show he’s an All-NBA level player.

I quite disagree. The whole starting unit for Denver played poorly, he actually had by far the best statline contributing about 40 points (22 his + 7 assists), plus rebounds. The only reason to want him on the floor is if he plays 45 minuts, since he is fat and gets tired. Other than that, watch him how he passes the ball, he would be fantastic with the Spurs. If he had a shooter like Red to feed, they could beat GS. Instead they have Murray, and we will the series.

I'm surprised Pop saw how terrible Mills was and limited him to only 18 minutes. Hopefully he reduces them even more in the next game.

I wouldn’t be opposed to some spot minutes for Cunningham on Millsap. Strong and can stay in front of him easier than Gay.

Attack Murray and Jokic in pick & rolls and get to the rim. White is not the only player on our roster who can do that.

That's funny. I read the first sentence and said " yeah". Especially attacking Murray. Make that sonofa work on the defensive end and that will cool him off on the other end.

Then my next thought before reading the rest was - "the Spurs don't have anyone to really do that other than White".
