Did you guys really expect anything else out of this lot? This is who we traded/signed up for..

3 archaic mid-range artists with long-standing reputation as career losers with zero fight or leadership in them.. They DID THEIR THING.

A bunch of one dimensional, regular season gimmicks who are absolutely worthless in the playoffs (Mills, Bertans, Beli, Bryn etc..).. They DID THEIR THING.

And even if we you fall ass backwards in a winnable situation, you have a washed-up, old prick with zero killer instinct coaching the opponent back into the series..He DID HIS THING

There is nothing to see here. Reality set in..

Sure the right type of talent isn't there, but this by far the most gutless and spineless Spurs team I've ever seen..

I said in another thread, the Spurs are way behind the times. Last in pace, last in 3 point attempts, while leading the league in attempts from the most inefficient distance on the count (10-22 feet). Only way the Spurs would've been able to make a bit of noise is for one of these modern NBA chucking teams to go cold in 4 games. I really can't blame the talent nor even Pop. Their style of basketball is at an inherent disadvantage.

I'd say mission accomplished for the season, that this team even got to the playoffs.

Yep people expecting more from this team than they put out in the regular season. With DeFrozan and Aldridge, two players just here for the paycheck and don't have any fire to win a crucial game, that wasn't going to happen.

Yep they better break up that abomination of a "core" or forget about winning a playoffs series, much less reach a conference Finals.

Good summary of a team constructed for mediocrity.

The only hope that we have is for Pop to hang 'em up. LMA will be here as long as Pop is. I think Dumbmar will be, too, although I hope that Pop will revert to his old self and get rid of him with his very un-Spurs-like antics. I cannot imagine Pop's accepting those antics from any other player, so I have a little hope that he won't accept them from Dumbmar, either. Keeping my fingers crossed that Pop will move him at the draft.

There is only so much you could do hoping for a different outcome. I would be more worried more if this front-office thought otherwise..

It just seems like they opted for the easy, unimaginative path that keeps them "relevant"/"compe ive"-- in a pretty deceptive professional lingo..

At best I was hoping for a 2nd round exit. Technically that's still possible but not likely. I'm really not upset, tbh. Spurs are what they are. Denver is playing like a 2 seed.

Didn't expect anything out of Derozan; but Aldridge playing lethargic pussyball in what should have been favorable matchup was such bummer.

If he couldn't dominate this series, not sure where are we going with him from here..

You can almost understand why this team's head honchos dont want to commit to a total reconstruct. They will likely not retain the success they have enjoyed for the past 20 years.

I think they figure making the playoffs is better than not. Just look at the Lakers.

how long has it been since they tried to "rebuild?"

The fact that San Antonio is such a ty unmarketable place is also an issue for them. No one of note wants to play for them.

Oops, your brain slipped a cog there.

Gregg Popovich is responsible for both the roster, and the style of this Spurs team. The blame rests entirely on him.

More chance of them getting blown out again in Game 6 than even taking it to 7..Demar/Aldidge already with that all too familiar resigned look ..

I respectfully disagree. The construction of this team and resulting performance has everything to do with Pop and side kick RC. Pop traded for Derozen because he didn't want to rebuild with young players and picks. He and RC signed Gasol and Mills. It's like Pop is oblivious to how the league has changed.

The spurs have always been cheap and this is what we really deserve. If they had promised Kawhi that they would pay him the max, and go over the cap to get great players if they had to, to win more chips, he would have stayed. But pop and company are misers and they would never promise that. The reason we could never win back to backs....is because of our miser-y, lol. So here we have it unless the Spurs start given up some cash, we are always going to be behind the curve....Now, the cap increasing I think they are still in miser mode.....they don't WANT to be at the edge of that huge cap....and its apparent.
thanks for chips Tony, Tim, and Manu....and Kawhi......but I think that will be it for a while.....the misers in this org will not let us get the talent we need anymore. I just hope we don't lose the team....but I have a feeling this team is headed to Austin....in the not so near future......e.g, 49ers.

This. I’ve come to peace with it all. It’s been a fun season, ups, downs, and all. I don’t see the Spurs as needing to turn into a Rockets/Warriors three point chuckers to stay relevant, but their definitely has to be a shift on offense. I’m really excited to see what a DJ and refreshed, focused DWhite can do next year

Game 6 either a 25 point drubbing or a ten point win - with this motley crew you cannot predict except if Nuggets jump on Sours early turn out lights

PATFO accomplished their off season goal. They traded their franchise player for a 30yr old regular season paper tiger. Making the playoffs was what they wanted over what was best for the future. Crater face is out in 2020, can't let the bas go out exposed and hoping for lottery balls. Wouldn't be fair. We're stuck in purgatory (playoff fodder/ late teens early 20s Draft pick) for the next 3 years. Thanks PATFO!

that. With what's supposed to be one of the greatest coaches of all time, losing to Denver like this is pretty crappy.

Sucks knowing that if Manu had returned for 1 more year, the Spurs probably win this series in 5..
