Use Mills sparingly. Use Forbes very sparingly. Maybe don't even play one of them. Frankly, I'd even give some of their minutes to guys like Walker or Cunningham, who can actually play defense.

I'm not just trying to be a jackass, but isn't that sort of the opposite of shortening the rotation? What you're really saying, I think, is take some minutes away from Patty and Brynn.

Not hyping Cunningham. He's a scrub. Just acknowledging how much of negatives guys like Mills and Forbes are against Denver on the road.

I'm not really counting guys getting 3:37 PT. Yea, I'm not being literal. Playing six or seven only not feasible. But playing six or seven only on double digit minutes, yes.

Not gonna work in Denver with their pick n' roll at the top of the arc tearing Mills's anus.

It might work if they execute the way they did tonight. I think if Denver gains any real momentum with that bunch, he'll pull the plug quicker on em'

Poetl will be in foul trouble, there's no way he'll play anywhere near that much, but I agree..White could be in foul trouble next game, too, all depends on which officiating crew is in Denver and whether they'll allow him to be aggressive, he's been active with his hands..
Yeah. Malone is an insecure, panicky sort. He already played the officiating card specifically with Poeltl's screens between games 3 and 4, I have no doubt he'll do it again (if not publicly, privately). He knows he's probably been the Spurs best player in the series and that the double big lineup has mostly neutralized or negated some of their strengths (points in the paint, offensive rebounding).

Wishful thinking. We'll be down by double digits in no time.

Im still pretty concerned that our main ball handlers (White/DeRozan) have not effectively solved how DEN is defending PnR. Spacing has to be better, decisions have to be quicker and they have to hit Jakob/LMA going toward the rim. Right now they are struggling to go in a direct line to the basket; instead they are getting turned going away from the basket then having to reset and figure stuff out.

I think a small but big thing would be to get going a bit faster/earlier. Seems like it’s slow to develop sets and waiting for that screen vs being aggressive and pushing, screen or not, when they get it.

    Compared to Mills or Forbes?

You tryin' too hard was a figure of speech. You really just going full re . I was being kind before.
There is a reason why Cunningham has been chained to the bench and it's because he's a turnstile on D and teams ignore him on offense.

You want to play him over Beli and give Forbes? This team has already had enough issues scoring against Denver and Cunningham won't do anything to stop them on the other end.

He wasn't benched for defensive reasons, bruh. He's a much better defender than Mills and Forbes, who are bottom two percentile. Give me a break, dude.

And yes, I'm talking about playing Cunningham over Forbes or Mills in a two to three minute span to not let a Denver lead balloon like it does when the midgets are in there.

he shortened the rotation for game 6 and it worked ... yes Mills missed all 3 point attempts, but he had his moments

lol wanting to put a rookie in there in a game 7 after the Spurs won a game

Gay needs a master game in Game 7. Nuggets 2nd unit run over our 2nd, but not tonight. Not when Gay is posting them and slowing it down avoiding the transition avalanche on shorty Mills, no defense Beli. So I’ll count on Gay as the X Factor. Gay scores +15, Spurs win

If you’re looking for a savior, look at White. Maybe Beli, Gay or Patty shoot the 3 well. Poetl is limited, but at least he seems to care about winning and losing.

Our starters were destroyed in games 4 and 5.
In game 6 our starters made shots like crazy but still wasn't able to get a needed separation which we got with Mills-Belli-White-Gay-Poeltl lineup.
Sadly in today's NBA 3point shooting is crucial.

White, LMA, Gay, Derozan, Poeltl, Bellinelli are the core six. Don't get cute with your stupid planned rotations regardless of whether it s stuff up, Pop. Again, if you need placeholders to give a blow, go with guys who can actually play defense or put Forbes/Mills in for two minutes max a pop.

All this said, I know Pop gonna do something stupid like give Mills 28 minutes.
So you want to shorten the rotation, but play Walker and Cunningham.

Defensive Rtg per 100 possessions in the RS (On Court)

Cunningham- 111.0 in 929 minutes (Worst on the team, of the 10 players who played at least 900 minutes)
    Forbes- 109.2 in 2293 minutes
    Mills- 108.2 in 1926 minutes

Cunningham is the worst defender of the 10 players that played at least 900 minutes on this team. When on the floor, Cunningham had a offensive rtg of 102 , off court was 113.4

Basically, I was exactly right. The offense was horrible when he was on the floor, above average when he wasn't and terrible defensively when he played. The Spurs were much better defensively when he was off the court.

Trolls worried about literally shortening the rotation, even though it's been explained I'm speaking in terms of material minutes.

Nobody is using less than 9-10 with today's NBA rules.

So you are not talking about shortening the rotation, but instead expanding the rotation. To Cunningham and Walker, no less. OK.

Belinelli needs to take more shots! That's as simple a formula as it can get. The offense should be looking for opportunities to get Marco open.
