“THIS IS NOT A MEA CULPA”: HOW TRUMP WEAPONIZED THE TIMES’S POST-ELECTION NON-APOLOGY TO READERS

A message composed in haste to shocked subscribers after Trump’s election has become one of Trump’s favorite Twitter cudgels. But the Times says it “never apologized.”

For the Times, the dubious apology claims are a dead horse at this point.

“Once again, repeating it over and over doesn’t make it any more true,

a note to readers—as unusual for the Times as the election had been for the country—from then-publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and executive editor Dean Baquet.

“After such an erratic and unpredictable election,” it said,

    “there are inevitable questions:

Did Donald Trump’s sheer unconventionality lead us and other news outlets to underestimate his support among American voters?

What forces and strains in America drove this divisive election and outcome?

Most important, how will a president who remains a largely enigmatic figure actually govern when he takes office?

As we reflect on the momentous result,

and the months of reporting and polling that preceded it,

we aim to rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of
    Times journalism.”

NYT is right. That's no apology.

Trash spewing 1000s of LIES to 10Ms of cult base, and they believe it.

Giuliani burns Trump's excuse for hiding his taxes

Rudy Giuliani has to be the worst lawyer in the world ... especially when his clients are criminals.

During his Fox News appearance, however,

Giuliani suggested the IRS has finished looking into Trump’s taxes.

“The IRS has investigated his taxes,” Guiliani sad.

“They exist to come after us if we don’t pay our taxes.

We know they’re damn good and they’re confidential and they don’t leak.

If they haven’t gone after him on taxes, for that six-year period, then there is nothing wrong with his taxes.”

“They can’t investigate his taxes better than the IRS,” Giuliani continued, referring to the Democratic lawmakers on the House Ways and Means committee who are seeking Trump’s tax information.

“They want his taxes to embarrass him.”

But if the IRS has indeed completed its investigation and found nothing improper — as his lawyer just claimed — Trump’s repeated promises should make Congress’ request a moot point.

Former White House aide says Trump campaign do ents were destroyed or hidden from investigators

telling Melvin White House officials made it clear they did not want Manigault-Newman and others from the Trump campaign to share evidence with investigators.

“We should really not just focus on what he is telling people to do or say,

but how he's asked people to destroy do ents,

    to destroy e-mails,

in my case two boxes of campaign-related materials the white house still has in their possession

that they claim they don't have or
don't know what happened to it.”

White House officials made it very clear they did not want this evidence to see the light of day.

Putin just passed a law that Trump would sell his soul for

The court stated that it had fined the individual,

who was identified only by the initial K, 30,000 rubles ($470)

    for two social-media posts that

"offend human dignity and social morals and

express clear disrespect to society, the state, and government organs of the Russian Federation."

The posts were allegedly made on March 31, two days after the new law came into effect.

DONALD TRUMP MAY ALREADY BE COMMITTING NEW CRIMES

In retaliating against witnesses, the president is leaving himself open to the possibility of fresh criminal charges—and possible indictment after he exits the White House.

the president’s social-media musings can come back to haunt him, such as when his
tweeting about Paul Manafort was cited as possible evidence of obstruction.

, Trump has tweeted about the Russia probe
more than 50 times in the the days since the redacted Mueller report was released,

    with increasingly
forceful attacks on former White House counsel Don McGahn,

who Trump allies fear could help lawmakers build a case for impeachment.

    Indeed,
reports Politico, going on a rage-filled vendetta against McGahn,

who knows where all Trump’s bodies are buried,

is probably one of the president’s dumber ideas:

Bad News For Trump As Voters Aren’t Buying His Immigration Lies

A new poll shows that voters aren’t Trump’s portrayal of immigrants as criminal and reject Trump notion that immigrants commit more crimes than citizens.

According to the Monmouth University poll:

One rationale for many of the proposals, including the border wall, is to prevent an influx of violent criminals.

However, most Americans do not believe that illegal immigrants are more likely than other U.S. residents to commit violent crimes.

Just 21% say they are more likely to commit crimes like rape or murder,

while 50% say they are about as likely as other Americans to do this,

and 24% say they are actually less likely to commit these types of crimes.

These results are fairly consistent with prior polls since 2015.

In terms of economic impacts of illegal immigration,

few people (24%) feel that illegal immigrants take away jobs from American citizens.

Most (60%) say illegal immigrants fill jobs that Americans do not want.

There are no significant differences in these results by income level.

This opinion has not shifted significantly since 2015.

Trump smears of immigrants have flopped

The reason why Trump hardline immigration policies have failed to gain any traction with the public outside of his base is that

most people don’t believe the assumptions behind Trump’s policies.

They don’t believe that immigrants come to the US to steal American jobs, and

they don’t buy by a nearly three to one margin the Trump belief that immigrants are more likely to commit crimes.

    Just SICKENING!

Judge blocks Trump’s cutoff of Planned Parenthood subsidies

A federal judge in Washington state on Thursday blocked a Trump administration cutoff of U.S. subsidies for poor women obtaining birth control from Planned Parenthood and other clinics that offer abortion services or information to patients, according to the state attorney general.

preliminary injunction bars enforcement nationwide of a policy due to go into effect on May 3 over the vehement objections of abortion supporters,

who have decried it as a “gag rule” that would prevent doctors from doing their jobs.

“Today’s ruling ensures that clinics across the nation can remain open and continue to provide quality, unbiased healthcare to women,” Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson said in a statement announcing the decision.

Trump’s 2020 Chances Sinking In The Midwest As Just 34% Of Ohio Voters Support His Reelection

just 34 percent of Buckeye State voters want Trump to have a second term –

seven points lower than the number of voters in the state who think a Democrat should be elected in 2020.

    Overall, Trump’s
approval rating in the state – 35 percent – is dismal.

    Among
independents, it’s even lower with just 23 percent saying he’s doing a good job as president.

Pennsylvania is making Team Trump very nervous for 2020

Team Trump is getting nervous about Pennsylvania in 2020

worries grow that Trump could lose the state he so narrowly carried in 2016.

the state Republican Party is in the kind of shambles that has

Politico noting, as a positive sign, that there hasn’t been a no-confidence vote taken against the party chair.

    Civiqs puts his approval at
43 percent to 54 percent disapproval,

while a recent poll from Franklin & Marshall College had Trump at just 34 percent approval.

Nancy Rodriguez, a spokesperson for the Council of Chief State School Officers, which organizes the program, said in an email that it's the council's understanding that Trump won't be in attendance. She said that while U.S. presidents have often given out the award, the group is aware of at least nine other instances when someone else — such as the vice president or first lady — has done so. The award program started in 1952.

I'm still not a Trump supporter. Just calling you out on your posting a factually inaccurate tweet is not supporting Trump. Just because Truman started the program in 1952 it doesn't mean the President presented the award every year. But.hey....Trump is your new *ding*
