With the PATFO having shrewdly locked down Patty Mills, it's up to the rest of the NBA to try to adapt to facing the 2019-20 Spurs.

With verification that Greg Pop will be back to coach, how do you think playoff teams will respond to Patty-n-Pop 2020?

Stat boys around the league still watching tape on how to overcome the Patty patented defense technique of preemptively jumping to the right for the player to be wide open driving past him to the lane.

From a Denver perspective, you always gameplan Mills knowing the goal is to slow him down a little, since shutting him down is not possible. There are some things you can do to give yourself a puncher's chance, however.

    1. Start guarding him 35 feet away from the 3 point line. He can hit from anywhere.

    2. Force him to dribble to his left.

    3. Constant double teams. This strategy opens up good 3 point looks from other spurs, but fortunately Pop doesn't incorporate those into his offense. It's a good thing, too, as Mills is an elite playmaker.
