The 76ers and Celtics were both colossal disappointments this year. Let's not make them out to be juggernauts.
Sure, but they were still considered the better teams and they're still better than most of the western conference teams.

This is the first time the East has had 4 teams that can all be argued for 2,3,4,5 best teams in the league.

    No one cares about Denver.

It was Warriors and ROckets and the Top 4 in the east.

But not really. Lebron and his Cavs were better than any team in this East.

Boston was exposed big time. Philly was proven to be pretty overrated. They just aren’t that good. MIL is, so we will see how they do there.
Thats the whole point. People didnt care about that run as much because the East was basically lebron.

You're acting like the Raptors weren't desperate to trade DeRozan the last 2 seasons (Can't blame them). They were willing to risk half a season of PG to get rid of him.

That has nothing to do with what I said though. You are literally seeing people in Twitter saying that Kawhi did what DeRozan never could; lead TOR to the ECF

Also, you are seeing articles written on basically the same sentiment. It was an amazing shot but Kawhi has not taken the franchise to some previously unattainable heights....yet.

The East isn’t any better right now though really. I mean, it’s decent I guess, but not some West-like gauntlet

I am legitimately baffled by how many people didn’t know DeRozan / Lowry got to the ECF. Its shocking to me how that was forgotten.
All about the dunks and 3 pointers.

You said you were asked to forget something. I asked about that.

Do you approach everything in terms of whether it makes you happy? Do you think Leonard should have missed that shot in order to make you happy?

I think you're too self centered.

I don't think any of them do what they do in order to make me happy, personally. I don't see things from that angle.

I like watching basketball, especially the Spurs. Sometimes I watch other teams, and other players. So some guy, who used to play for the Spurs, takes a wild, last-second shot, that bounces off the rim a couple times, and falls through, and wins the game. Wow. Cool. Very dramatic. But the thought never crosses my mind that he did it to make me happy, or unhappy.
You sound like some guy suffering from aspergers or you have no awareness of human emotions. 99 percent of sport fans derive emotions of happiness and sadness from seeing their teams win or lose. So you weren't happy when the Spurs won any of their 5 les? GTFO here. You are the same guy who was angry as in this thread when the Sixers were up 2-1 on the Raptors.

I have a hard time believing you were indifferent when #2 hit that shot.

The East have 4 of the top 6 teams in the league. Thats practically the first time it happened in a decade if not longer.

    It is a big deal.

His team went to the ECF last season without him so I dont have anything to do with it, why you wanna go there? ...
    Go where? You've lost me.

Im a Spurs fan dont care about other teams.
Oh, ok, you don't watch the Spurs because you like basketball. If the Spurs were a soccer team, or a baseball team, you'd feel the same way about them.

One reason I like the Spurs is because I like watching basketball, in preference to other sports. So we're different.

what kind of gymnastics is this. Kawhi just beat Orlando and a really overrated Philly team

You are acting like he beat BOS first round, PHI 2nd Round and then Bucks already.

Breh you're missing the whole point.

The East is compe ive for the first time in what like 80 years. That's the reason why they're getting so much coverage. The East used to Lebron and a bunch of nobodies.

My point is, Philly is the best team the Raptors have defeated in a playoff series in 10 years.

    Define special?

Philly is not special but they're for sure better than all teams not including lebron teams in the last 5 years.

They have the fourth best East vs Western Conference record in the NBA at 20-10. Thats usually not something you can say about eastern teams.

    Raps in 5 or six.

If they win the first two games. Raps in 5.

When TOR made the ECF with DeRozan they had to go through Wade and PG who are both 10x better than anyone Kawhi has faced so far.

Meh. The raptors was disappointing. All Analytical numbers suggested theyd cruise past Philly..

Raptors cruising past philly, doesnt mean they're on par with some of the teams the East trotted the last 6 years. This Philly team is even better than the 2016 raptors.

#2 faced a a center that suffers from Ebola, a 6'10 PG with no jumpshot, and a overrated chucking SG.

I think what we are seeing is the teams in the East aren’t as good as we hoped. Not saying they are trash, but this was built up as the year the East was back on the map. Turns out they are a bunch of average teams like DEN/POR etc...

TOR is all Kawhi. Siakam broke out in the regular season, but not as good of a playoff from him so far.

You are making a correlation without the requisite facts. It could and most likely has zero to do with PATFO. For all we know, nephew just wants to be inLA, which is in fact the most often repeated line we hear from NBA insiders. But it could just as easily be that Nephew likes sticking his tongue out and scratching his head in a west coast timezone because he gets less mockery for it there.

Point is, you know . Use logic. Use available data. Don't pull it out of your ass.
You talk a big ass game, but facts are facts.

Fact: Kawhi played for the Spurs

Fact: Kawhi ask to be traded

Fact: PATFO could not convince him to stay

Fact: Kawhi no longer plays for the Spurs

Tap dance all you want, but they had him and couldn’t keep him. They lost him.

So what should they have done to keep him? Promise him part ownership of the team? Give Uncle Dennis a front office job? I seriously want to know.

No, I don't sound like that. You are mistaken.

You have misunderstood. I didn't say I wasn't happy when the Spurs won les. I said I didn't think they won the les in order to make me, personally, happy. Do you understand the distinction?

There is a point to the distinction. The point is not to act like the world revolves around you, and should be run in a way that makes you happy. Reality isn't like that, and it's an unhealthy state of mind. It's a state of mind that makes people dishonest, for one thing.

You are the same guy who was angry as in this thread when the Sixers were up 2-1 on the Raptors.
Really? Not that I would doubt your judgment.

In fact, I was half expecting the Raps would lose to Orlando, because their coach Nurse is such a hapless screwup. I believe I posted some such remark on some thread.

I have a hard time believing you were indifferent when #2 hit that shot.

Ok so you were happy the Spurs won the le but you didn't believe they won the le to make you happy. I'm not even going to dispute that but you still sound re ed. That's like saying how dare you enjoy a song from Tupac because he didn't make that song for your enjoyment but for himself.

I didn't enjoy #2's shot since I consider him a Spurs villain. That's like saying hey you should have enjoyed Fisher's .4 shot, Ray Allen's shot since it's great basketball. Sports for 99 percent of fans is filled with guys we consider alleged villains and good guys granted 90 percent of these guys in real life are not saints. People get enjoyment out of seeing their favorite players, teams win and seeing their hated rivals, players fail. That's how it normally goes.

Kawhi came back from a severe injury that neither his teammates or fans believed him about and hits a clutch game 7 winner. Phenomenal.
didn't realize mental issues are considered as severe injury.

I'll get over it once he's eliminated from the playoffs. Better hope he beats both bucks and warriors so you can have maximum trolling power.
