So much for Spurfan's conspiracy theories that he was going to LA no matter what.

I have always thought it was more about Uncle Dennis the Menace and his nephew wanting to build a brand/empire. Home just happens to be the place where that would be the easiest.

I do think they'd stick around in TOR if Ujiri bent over and gave Uncle a prominent front office position. I wouldn't put it past them either with how desperate they are to keep Nephew.

That's hardly a conspiracy theory. He said he wanted to play in LA.

Seriously. Simple disgruntled player/free agency speculation is not a conspiracy.

You wanna bet son? His taxes in Canada will be turrible. Take his teammate Kyle Lowry, for example. He made $28 milli, right? Wrong:

    2018 season gross pay: $28,703,704

    Deductions:

    -$2,870,370 (10% escrow)
    -$9,377,563 (32.67% Fed Taxes)
    -$4,328,108 (15.08% city/state taxes)
    -$793,083 (2.76% for his agent)
    -$18,000 (0.06% for 401K)
    +$564,000 (1.96% for 2017 escrow)
    +$167,061 (0.58% shortfall)
    Net pay: $12,47,641 (41.96%)

Is a supermax worth it, in Canada after all ^^ shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit?!?!

He'd be a real dumbass to take home only 41.96% of his pay and stay deported. that

Raptors can also offer him $50mil more than any other team, and it's not like Cali's tax situation is any better. Still pretty sure he'll end up a Clipper anyway.

He appears to be comfortable with the team. But it depends on how the ECF go. If the Bucks cruise to a 5 game series win, and Leonard just has no help at all, he still IMO is likely bailing. Even if they go to the finals he may bail for LA. Uncle is running , and the Clippers you know want KL bad..

No. I'm making the ca$e on why he won't stay deported.

We do have a chance. Will it happen? Who knows. We'll have to see.

Pablo, you think Cali is much better?

I moved from Ontario to Cali...trust me the difference is marginal. Now let's look at Wardell Jr's $34.68M salary:

Nephew is leaving, and it's not because of ing taxes

It doesn't matter where he goes but he's the one who said he wasn't going to play anywhere but LA. So if he stays in a region with weather he cannot tolerate, that's on him. They'll cheer for him in any city, because he plays both ends and doesn't run his mouth.

Kawhi's decision is a win/win, tbh. If he leaves for LA, his whole charade will get exposed. If he stays in Toronto, he stays the out of the West.

well he is outside of pops dictatorship.. do u really think pop would play kahwi 40mpg+ or even let him continue play with a hot hand? he will yank him out like he does as usual, cause he doesnt want him/others get a big head..besides him...and when the team chokes due to his roster rotation he goes get 2 tech foul and call it a day... stupid coach
