Would take him in the second round.
Cameron Johnson
School: North Carolina
Position: SF/PF
Age: 23
Height: 6-foot-9
Weight: 210
Wingspan: 6-foot-10
Draft Range: 18 to 35
Why: Quite possibly the best shooter in the draft. Hit 45.7% (96-for-210) of his threes last season and 50.6% overall. Lightning fast release, good form and moves smartly without the ball to locate open space. His size makes it difficult for anyone to bother his shot. Unselfish -- usually makes the right play. Can pass a little bit; reads defenses adequately well. Tries hard on defense and has solid fundamentals on that end.
Why Not: Old at 23. His only real notable college season was as a fifth-year senior. Extremely injury prone (hip surgery, meniscus surgery, neck sprain, multiple back ailments). Not an athlete; can drive to the basket a little bit but it's tough sledding. Doesn't jump well. A willing runner but not a fast runner. Mobility a question mark but got better after hip surgery. Defending SFs will be a difficult task for him. If he doesn't prove to be mobile enough, would have to be a very undersized and often overmatched power forward.
Spurs Fit: Would likely be given a chance to earn minutes away from Davis Bertans and Rudy Gay (assuming he returns). Doesn't need much more seasoning.

Would take him in the second round.
Good safe pick at 29 if the team swings for fences with 19.
We really dont need another Bertans. No more 3 pt shooting 1 dimensional players.
I personally really like him especially at 29 but I wouldn’t be upset with 19 either lol I’ve read he’s not a very good defender but I think he could be in a spurs system, can’t be worse then Davis, belly, and DeMar at Defense
Agree with him being a safe pick, but define "swinging for the fences at 19."
Probably meaning they're gonna get a raw talent that will take 2-3 years to groom
This guy looks like he would be a great fit for the Spurs. The most realistic pick. If we can swing Mathysse Thybulle (idk his exact name) and this guy in the first rounds, I would be satisfied with the draft picks.
Someone like Little, Doumbouya or Fernando who might need time to develop but could have a higher ceiling. You draft Johnson because you know he can probably come in as a bench guy for 10-15 minutes a game right out the gate. The opposite would be getting someone like Clarke or Washington at 19 and using 29 on Okeke or Jontay Porter.
Pass
Much better than Bertans, even gives glimpses of Peja Stojakovic, at least he's Bojan Bogdanovitc/Kyle Korver...
Take Brandon Clarke at #19 and Cameron Johnson at #29
Take Matisse Thybulle in the second
I'd be happy with those three, but the Spurs would have to move up in the second round to get Thybulle or Johnson before #49.

Thybulle pulled out of the NBA combine, likely meaning he's got a first round promise.
Maybe it's from the Spurs?
Chuck person shooting skills![]()
This guy can shoot but nothing else. I figure if we want shooting and a little something else to go with it then instead of getting this guy go get Dylan Windler from Belmont. He is a legit NBA wing height (hopefully his wingspan isn't total ) can shoot and rebound very well. They could maybe trade the late 1st for a future 1st and a higher 2nd in this years draft to get this guy or just take him 29th.
The combine is going to be huge for his stock and if he ends up being more athletic than thought of and have a decent wingspan the guy will leave earlier than the 29th pick.
Well he's light skinned.
Fathead 2.0
He'd be a reach at 19, for sure, and probably won't make it to 29th.
How did he do at the combine? Read on another website that there were rumors of Spurs and Sixers targeting him
Athletic results were not bad but average. One of the best lane agility time tough.
I really think Bertans is tradable and him + 19 might get the spurs where they need to be. He makes sense in that case at 29
