Easy sweep regardless
They were relaxed and half-asleep in Game 1, and had no problem whatsoever
Easy sweep regardless
The side of the bracket that Portland conquered lacked Houston or Golden State. It was essentially a cakewalk for whomever would win the "B" side. The Warriors and Rockets got placed in the same bracket and despite what many may think, I think Houston would probably beat Portland if the roles were reversed. Defense was porous for Portland once Nurkjic went out. But giving Curry that much room to shoot doesn't at all seem like a genius plan. Maybe Stotts thought heck, his finger is why he shot less than 30% in the last round. Is he capable of adjusting? Seems Hood and McCollum at least showed up.
Yea, it made no sense to give Curry an inch but Portland thinks giving him 5 feet is better. That was the worse coaching decision I have ever seen.
Also Dame's is still shooting horribly and looks so passive out there. He looks like he doesn't care and just happy to be there.
Terry Stotts going Pop on that reporter after that absolutely defensive game plan![]()
I mean Mark Jackson was basically calling him out the entire first half and he never made an adjustment at half time. And every time the Blazers tried to pick and roll with Dame the Warriors would trap him.
Funny how Van Gundy was also saying they need to get shooter out there when they would double Kanter. They should have put in Hood in earlier to help spread the floor so they couldn't double Kanter that easily since Aminu can't shoot to save his life. And Harkless isn't a better shooter either. Might as well give Meyers Leonard some run and see if he can make some 3's for them. What is the point of having Collins out there if they aren't going to switch or double Curry?
Pretty much spot on. The lights were too bright for Stotts. If you're quantifying your defensive game plan by stating "We were only down six!!!Why should I worry?" You're asking for total annihilation. At least the Rockets knew their defense would be the downfall. They made life marginally more difficult for Steph and Klay. I don't know if Portland has the horses and their D was as atrocious as Houston's was this season, I believe.
You are right, Houston played better defense then they ever did before, they kept pressure on Golden State and switched or tried trap. The problem with them is their Offense. Capela couldn't make anything, Paul is too old and slow, and Harden is worse playoff chocker ever.
I remember vaguely in the finals when he was with OKC and they played the Heat he was abysmal then too. Then against the Spurs and now 2 times in a row against the warriors.

True true
Career 3pt%
Curry: 43.6%
Klay: 41.9%
Lillard: 36.8%
McCollum: 40.1%
Apparently they're headed to their 5th finals in a row based on sheer luck.
Top 5 teams they have defeated during this run?
- Lebron's Cavs
- Harden's Rockets
- Durant's Thunder
- Kawhi's Spurs
- ?
I am not impressed
I think coming back from down 3-1 against Durant's Thunder was the Warriors'/Curry's finest moment during this run. It far exceeds any of their victories against Cleveland imo. That Thunder Team was talented, athletic, and long. They were no joke. The second greatest accomplishment was this most recent victory over Houston for two reasons-1) the Rockets were at full health with no excuses and 2) it helps to offset the argument that Houston would have won last year if CP0 was not hurt. The Dubs won without Durant so the Rockets should have been able to do it without Paul.
They're 41-10 the last three years in the playoffs. That's an 80% winning percentage. I get the feeling they could go 82-0 and you'd still say that Rex Chapman is better than Steph Curry.
No reason to let either shoot over 40 3 FG if they're gonna be volume three shooters. Without KD there, they're very containable.
KD "not close to returning" after today's evaluation. Will the Glazers defend the 3 well enough tonight to steal one on the road? Will Lollard shoot better than 30%? The answer... is no.
Paul Pierce as a commentator. So cringe.![]()
Garbage ass Blazers. A team finally gets lucky against the Warriors and these s are bound to get swept.
Funny how this Blazer team managed to beat both OKC and Denver after intentionally trying to throw games to get matched up against Utah in the first round to whom they probably would have lost.
Blazers switching on all screens.
I still wonder how Curry's ugly ass jumpers always go in. His release is just as ugly looking too. ffs
My lord how bad is Dame playing? He looks like Mills out there right now.
They've really gotta do something about offensive players lunging their bodies into contesting defenders and getting free throws out of it. The most unnatural shot motions, just makes no sense. Should be an offensive foul every time
and yea seriously what in the is wrong with Dame? This is now 3 out of his last 4 playoff series where he looks terrible
Portland playing very well. Still a lot of basketball left to be played.
