When we look at how the west is shaping up next year, and the east will continue to get stronger. When can we really expect Spurs to be in tle contention again? LMA, DDR we will take us to 2nd best.

There's 12 teams that have never won tles. It's a hard thing to do. Especially for a small market like SA. Were it not for an incredible turn of events, Spurs would still likely be at zero les.
Not a big city that's going to lure top free agents. Not about to draft a top 5 all time player. Everyone is well aware of Euro players now so they aren't going to surprise anyone with another Tony or Manu.
Still a Spurs fan but another le is not on the horizon.
As long as the Spurs tle their I's and cross their "T's" anything is possible.

Very realistic. CIA Pop schemed up with CIA Dennis to trade Kawhi in his contract year to acquire a couple decent pieces and allow the Klaw full recovery from his injury to reach 100%, giving the Spurs time to clean up their roster. Then Kawhi signs with Spurs at the end of GSW reign and win the 2020 championship.
When the Spurs find another diamond in the draft and mold him into a star. This team is missing a real top tier talent to be a contender. The pieces are there but we ain't winning with LA or DD as our two best players
This. Depends on the development of the young guys and the 2 picks in this years draft really. If Walker and Murray become All-Stars next season or the one after than they might be able to do something by committee. Other than that, we just gotta wait it out. Right now Spurs are stacking young players on the same timeline of Murray/Walker/White. If the 2 picks got a high ceiling and they keep guys like Poeltl/add some more young talent in FA or through trades and all of them are in their prime 5-6 years from now, then we're back in the le hunt for real
Exactly.. Look at Milwaukee. They still wouldn't be if they didn't strike gold on Giannis.. We need another true young superstar
Tbf '14 Tim Duncan was pretty low level as far as best players on le teams go. Have to change the philosophy to more of a collective team effort instead of being so iso heavy with our fake stars though. If GS splits up, Spurs can be right in the thick of things if they draft well, shed Belli or Wombat (preferably both), and get a solid SF with the MLE, tbh.
