Democratic Reluctance to Even Utter “Impeachment” Is Becoming Untenable

Republicans start from the presumption that
“treason” and “spying” will be prosecuted without actual evidence,

while Democrats start from the presumption that only once they have seen all the evidence of everything ever, they might conclude that some further investigation is warranted.

    Donald Trump leads
deranged stadium rallies in chanting “lock them up” without ever specifying who committed what alleged crime.

Democrats, faced with a case of what
would be felony obstruction of justice but for a legal guidance against prosecuting a sitting president,

insist that they cannot initiate impeachment proceedings because they need to
    gather more information.

    "Mueller’s extraordinary 2,800-subpoena, 500-search-warrant, two-year investigation

    fully established not merely crimes

but also the betrayal of the president’s office:

a failure to defend the country’s electoral system from foreign attack and

acts of interference with justice that shred the rule of law.

Congress doesn’t need to read more to announce what is obvious from what it should have read already."

Meh. Impeachment won't hurt the Dems in the least, but it is also fairly pointless right now imo. The left and right have made up their minds simply due to party affiliation as always. It is the middle that will matter, again as always, but I doubt impeachment really bothers them either. Either way, in the end I expect a pretty close race again.

Articles of impeachment could be, should be a very long list of everything that serious Americans considers unbefitting of a President.

It would be an official rap sheet, into the Congressional Record, staining, tatooing Trash's legacy

Darrin is totally fine with crimes as long as Republicans are doing it.

Maybe you are with Trump when he says he wants to lock his critics up, and investigate the FBI?

No, you haven't read the Mueller report.

But you let a con man tell you what is in it.

It was a nothing burger from the start. It's worse than that. It's a black eye on the republic. Hillary and her minions couldn't give away power gracefully.

I have faith that they know the American public would eat them alive for trying to ouster a sitting president over a nothing burger.

    No they won't.

More like Republican voters would "eat them" alive which means absolutely nothing in terms of left vs right.

People dont like Trump so this is not even comparable to Clinton. He was actually liked.

I dont agree with impeaching a guy who's going to lose in less than 2 years anyways.

I think the number of people who support impeachment will grow substantially once Mueller testifies before Congress.

Pelosi though is going to slow walk this. Public support just isn't there.

    Yet.

Hours and hours of Trump-baiting hearings, news conferences, and all manner of negative press, for a steady drum beat of negative news cycles that drown out the coming presidential twitstorms.

Pelosi will run ing circles around Trump, just like she has in the past. LOL shutdown meltdown *100 She has already started praying for him, and called on his people to do an intervention. That is cold hard calculated to get under his skin.

Impeachment will be slow-walked. Pelosi is going to continue to goad Trump into making mistakes. Trump will be unable to ing see straight because it is a woman in power doing it.

Never had much of an opinion on Pelosi before, but watching her work over Dumb Donald is something to behold.

Mueller gave Congress a roadmap to impeachment. Why do you think the Democratic Caucus in the House of Representatives hesitates to do its job?
As noted above. Pelosi is going to gather a lot more ammo before starting the fusillade.

I think she will explain to the younger hot heads what the strategy is, and they will understand the whats and whys in private, push in public, and let Pelosi take the heat for going slow, while they get cover.

This is exactly why Trump and Republicans want to push for it sooner rather than later. You can already see DarrinS and CC are already regurgitating the party line from their propaganda stream, so that is obviously their party strategy.

I think Sun Tzu might have something to say about letting your opponents goad you into hurrying a battle or choosing the battleground.

A hard calculus. Seems obvious to me that impeachment, indictment, is warranted now. But if there is more, and better, evidence to be had, especially in the investigating of all the nasty back-dealing that is going on, then I can see that.

Ultimately impeachment is a political decision. At this point, I am fine with what is happening. If more evidence is more likely to succeed, then get that. At some point Republicans will have even more to justify than they have now.
