FASCISM!
This CNN article reports that a high school year book featured a photo with a boy who was wearing a hat with MAGA embroidery, only someone on staff had apparently blurred the hat’s text so that it was not visible.
This has caused a stir over apparent “censorship.” The boy’s mother believes it was a political statement by the yearbook, and the staff says it was a “mistake.”
I can picture a few possibilities here:
- The mother is correct, and the yearbook staff was attempting to censor the MAGA hat as a move against the teen and his views.
- The yearbook staff may have deliberately censored the hat, but it could have been to protect the MAGA hat-wearing teen from harassment.
- Perhaps the yearbook staff were messing around, and someone blurred the hat as a joke. Then it went to press without anyone noticing (thus being indeed a mistake).
What do you think happened, and was the yearbook right to blur the hat if it was on purpose?
there's no 1st Amendment protection in K-12
That student will thank them in 20 years.
Calling it a "mistake."
Liberal worm
For the political fascism?
That's exactly what it is. Do you think that if you are preemptively sarcastic, that'll change the fact?

Explain how schools exercising editorial control over yearbooks is fascism.
Fascists don't do "editorial control"?
You can't prove a negative. This is a logical fallacy.
The burden of proving that editorial control = fascism is on you, the one making the claim.
School administrations do. All the time. It's not anything new.
Don't give me that bull . Fascists do editorial control.
Yes, and they often act in fascist manners; this is no exception.
You haven't explained how this is fascism, derp.
Would it be okay to edit out a yamaka?
One issue at a time.
How is this fascism?
Your inability to understand fascism is really not my problem.
Your complete inability to prove any claim you make is definitely your problem.
How is this fascism?
Step up or back down.
Making demands like a fascist
Asking questions is fascism?
Could you explain that one too?
wow double fascism in that post!
Who wears a hat while taking a yearbook picture? Tacky wit.
I did
Of course it said spurs on it
My thoughts exactly. Staff should've had the kid remove the hat prior to taking a school picture... same with any other dumbass wearing a hat.
Were they the actual school pictures or just two incels during break?
