I think Pelosi is a backseat driver at this point. There will probably be mutiny within the democratic leadership if they dont act.

The closer to the election the better. If he gets impeached and removed, the later you go, the harder it will be for the GOP to get an alternative on the ballot in time for the election.

if he gets impeached and not removed, the more time he spends responding to the proceedings, the less he spends campaigning.

Waiting also allows for time to do the kinds of investigations into his other potential crimes and uncons utional acts to build a case for removal so strong that some sort of internal rebellion in the GOP happens. Quite a few GOP senators are up for re-election in 2020.

Trump even said it in his tweet.

Basically bragging he ed around but didn't get fully caught. (probably thanks to Russia and their spy ways)
If after 2 years and a half you cant find any evidence after searching everywhere, after all the supposed ¨russian connections¨ ¨follow the money¨ ¨Cohen is the key¨ and the only thing you got where unfaithful husbands and 12 russians posting stuff on FB, maybe its time to quit.

He is innocent but Demmies cant say it, so to make it short, if there is no evidence he is innocent, sad? thats how things work.

Conservative explains why Mueller’s carefully chosen words are incredibly damning for Trump

conservative journalist David Frum, following Mueller’s speech, urges Americans to go back and read the report and see for themselves how “damning” of President Donald Trump it is.

During Mueller’s speech, Frum notes, the special counsel said of his report, “We chose those words carefully, and the work speaks for itself.” And, Frum asserts, “the words of the report are damning.”

the special counsel, Frum points out, made that abundantly clear in his report — which states that

“the Russian government interfered in the 2016 presidential election in sweeping and systematic fashion” and

“favored presidential candidate Donald J. Trump and

    disparaged presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.”

Frum notes that Mueller’s report states that

“the social media campaign and the GRU hacking operations

coincided with a series of contacts

between Trump Campaign officials and individuals with ties to the Russian government.”

And those contacts, Frum adds, “were

covered up by a series of lies, both to the special counsel and to Congress.

Lying by the Trump campaign successfully obscured much of what happened in 2016.”

Frum, quoting Mueller’s report, asserts that Trump did everything he could to undermine the special counsel’s investigation and was “brazen” about it.

“the President engaged in a second phase of conduct,

involving public attacks on the investigation,

non-public efforts to control it, and

efforts in both public and private to encourage witnesses not to cooperate with the investigation.”

Adam Schiff Puts Barr On Hot Seat And Delivers A Chilling Message To Trump

First and foremost, I want to thank Robert Mueller for his lifetime of public service, not just as Special Counsel, but also as a Marine, at the Department of Justice, and as FBI Director. Only someone of his caliber and integrity could have conducted an investigation of this importance in such a fair and impartial way.

Mueller confirmed today that Russia engaged in multiple systematic efforts to interfere in the 2016 election and the U.S. political system, and underscored that this ‘deserves the attention of every American.’ These facts are indisputable, spelled out in great detail in his report, and lay bare the sinister and sophisticated nature of Russia’s attack.

Despite the president’s ‘no collusion’ mantra, Mueller in fact found countless contacts between Russian officials and agents, and Trump campaign associates.

These communications and actions were deeply compromising, and

raise serious counterintelligence concerns that the Committee must follow.

    Perhaps most damning of all,

Mueller found that Trump and his campaign sought to benefit from a hostile foreign intelligence operation.

The Special Counsel determined that there was insufficient evidence to charge a broader conspiracy, but this

should not inure us to how unethical and corrupt these actions were and how they undermined our national security.

Finally, in a direct rebuke of Attorney General William Barr—who deliberately and repeatedly misled the American people

—Mueller today confirmed that he was unable to consider criminal charges of obstruction of justice against the President specifically because of Department of Justice policy prohibiting the indictment of a sitting president.

Mueller reiterated that ‘if we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said so.’

Instead, he made clear that, because of the Department’s own policy, it is left it to Congress—not the Attorney General—to evaluate and further investigate the president’s misconduct.

We look forward to Mueller’s testimony before Congress.

While I understand his reluctance to answer hypotheticals or deviate from the carefully worded conclusions he drew on his charging decisions,

there are, nevertheless, a great many questions he can answer that go beyond the report,

including any counterintelligence issues and classified matters that were not addressed in his findings.

The Congress has a cons utional duty to hold the president accountable and ensure that our democratic system is not influenced or attacked by foreign adversaries.

We will continue to do both because no one is above the law, not even the President of the United States.

Adam Schiff isn’t letting William Barr off of the hook for his lies about the Mueller report,

there are counterintelligence components to investigate that remain under-discussed.

Mueller Stirs Controversy by Urging Americans to Read

WASHINGTON —The special counsel Robert Mueller ignited a firestorm of controversy on Wednesday by recommending that millions of Americans read.

Mueller, seemingly oblivious to the uproar he was about to create, repeatedly commented that

there was valuable information available to the American people only by reading a long book.

At the White House, sources said that Donald J.

Trump was furious about Mueller’s statement because

he interpreted the special counsel’s pro-reading message as a thinly veiled attack on him.

Speaking to reporters later, on the White House lawn, Trump made it clear that Mueller’s exhortation to read had fallen on deaf ears.

“I’ve never read any of my books, and I certainly don’t intend to read his,” Trump said.

To date, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has held off the increasing number of voices within the House Democratic caucus calling for impeachment, insisting that Trump wants to be impeached because it will turn him into a victim and allow him to make the election about alleged Democratic overreach rather than about health care, immigration and so on.
It's a sound political stance -- one reinforced by CNN polling that shows that almost 6 in 10 Americans don't want to see Trump impeached and more than 4 in 10 who think Democrats have already done too much investigating of the President.

lol they wouldn't be allowed to say the first one because of the fairness doctrine, which is something I had previously addressed here and that mueller reiterated during his presser.

the special counsel's office was not allowed to allege that the president committed a crime. saying "we would have charged him, but did not because of the OLC opinion" would be tantamout to alleging that the president committed a crime

instead, they only went so far as to say that he isn't exonerated, and otherwise laid out their factual findings. its only up to the house to allege that a crime was committed (via articles of impeachment)
