He has a chronic problem in his quad, thus, he is injury prone. This was the Spurs diagnosis, which his team rejected. This is diagnosis is validated by the fact he took 22 games off for "Load Management" with TO this year. TD missed 38 games for rest in his entire career ( https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...r-and-earlier/ ). This diagnosis is also key to him faking an injury. In the season Kwitter sat 73 games, he was in fact capable of playing, just like he is for TO now. Just like he did for the 9 game come back. His team just held him out (quitting on the spurs), to force a trade.
He quit in 17/18, and his "load management" indicates he will be injury prone for the remainder of his career.

SAN ANTONIO — Prior to Game 2 of the 2019 NBA Finals between the Raptors and Warriors, a skit aired on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show featuring San Antonio Spurs' DeMar DeRozan.
And according to DeRozan's agent, he nor his client wanted it to air.
In a report from The Athletic's Sam Amik, DeRozan’s agent, Aaron Goodwin, was informed the skit was to air before Game 2 of the Finals. This did not sit well with DeRozan nor his agent, and they asked it not be shown (or a disclaimer be added as to the date of filming) seeing it would be "insensitive" considering DeRozan plays with the Spurs.“We found out a few days ago, and we alerted them immediately that it’s not something that we wanted them to do nor did DeMar want it on,” Goodwin told The Athletic. “We felt it was extremely insensitive to the fact that DeMar’s (former) team is playing in the Finals. They made it clear to us that it was funny to them, although it wasn’t funny enough for them to use a year ago when they shot it. And apparently, that’s all that matters to them. We even asked them, ‘If you’re going to air this thing, put up a disclaimer that, for whatever reason, you’ve had this footage for over a year and you decided to use it now. And they refused to do that.”According to a tweet from Kimmel, the skit featured DeRozan displaying a fake training product called the "Invisiball."

Not sure if its been mentioned yet but, “Being alone makes you strong. I don’t need a friend.”, are song lyrics. . .from a Kevin Gates song, “I Got That Dope”.
I don't know what our FO will decide to do with DDR but I frankly think that he really needs an environment like ours to improve as a player and, probably, considering how reliable our staff is, also in his psicological matter...I never liked his game, never inspired in me confidence 'cause I have always considered it a losing way to play, but the fact that he has talent is undeniable...consecutive all star games don't came for free, also in a weak eastern conference. What is also undeniable is that the past one has been one of his best seasons...after just one training camp with us. We all know that the more you play our system the better you become...simply because is based on knowledge of a lot of movements and takes some time to learn (even if last season Pop said to have limited our playbook).
His transition to small forward is another point in his favor...considering he's already 29 and he's naturally gonna fit better with defensive assignments of bigger but slower players. Only thing he has to practice is the spot up threes...expecially from the corners. Not an impossible task...
That said, I'm not opposed to trading him, but lets not behave like he has no nba value...that's absurd, and also more absurd considering the kind of season, and stats, he just had.
damn they did DeMar dirty with this one. This makes it seem like he's out of the league doing local TV commercials that air at 2 AM while the Raptors are in the finals
