    I don’t think Kawhi was happy at Toronto either. But he had to salvage his image, and pretty much got his ass wiped by Masai. I think in due time, Spurs and him would’ve made it up if they forced him to play, saying they could’t find a suitable trade. Would have, should have. Lesson learned.

    It’ll be interesting to see the fallout if he leaves. Can any Raptors fan hate him now? I wouldn’t want to play long term with that bum squad he carried to a championship. Canadians also sell their milk in bags.

    He doesn't strike me as a guy that will do anything for his team, but the 'fallout' would be significant. I think he stays for a 1 and 1 player option deal. The optics of him leaving would be too bad, so he'll stay.

    I disagree with the optics being bad if he leaves. The media is on #2's side. They are even pushing the narrative right now that since he won a ring in Toronto that he doesn't owe them anything.

    Well does he? He never signed there and did not want to be traded there. He owes them nothing especially after winning a championship imo.

    You might be right, as he's a media darling for sure. I think west coast media is pushing that narrative. I hope he does, but think he'll wait.
