If choking in the playoffs numerous years wasn't enough to piss him off to shot on the compe ion, nothing will

People should pump the breaks on DeRozan finding motivation in the Raptors success. They did him dirty last year and he still came back the same inefficient chucker he always was

I thought he was motivated/pissed until about December and then old behaviors returned, which is to be expected. It would be the same for most of us.

On a tangent, I think a smart team should employ/consult actual therapists/psychologists because the league is basically composed of young men who are still dealing with their complicated personal pasts. Not everyone, but many. Maybe they already do.

Team bonding dinners over coq au vin is cool, but not likely meeting people where they are at. Courting worldly players probably makes the locker room more engaging, but actually relating to the African American experience of the players is a good idea, too. Maybe that already occurs, but I’m not certain about it.

This is actually a great idea. I think there's one eSports team in CSGO who does this to help the players' mentally, think it's Atralis.

Why I addressed that depression or mental condition is a serious matter in general, I can't help or being annoyed at DeMar's mental state. He's being paid and it's not a good example of behavior to show his mental condition while he's still with the NBA. I understand there's a different level or effect of depression to a certain people but he needs to be mentally tough and fight about it or atleast, seek some professional.

The problem with DeMar's approach in providing awareness of depression is in negative vibes instead on how you'll fight it. He should be atleast shows a positive vibes despite on what he's going through right now - that would be better or atleast do some diversion like helping the community or something.

I’m still rooting for this guy to turn a leaf this season. It’s contract year as far as getting him extended or traded. He needs to show he can play modern basketball. I feel he’s working hard with his outside shooting and defense. I mean the guy has all the physical tools to be great, and with Spurs trainers and system he could very well be so. Tbh, if he maximized his potential, Spurs is a complete team who can win it all next year

I think it’s a great idea if you are a coach who is tired of being employed and wants to lose the locker room. So if you really like being out of work as a coach yeah I go this way no problem.

Yes, wouldn't it be smart to ask a middle aged jew who went to Harvard about the experiences of young black jocks from the hood. Or not.

Maybe, maybe not. Or are you assuming it is illegal for brown and black people to go to college to study in this field?

Demar isn't depressed... Depression is something you have to be diagnosed from a licensed professional... All he did was say depression on social media and everyone thinks the dude is on the verge of suicide

No, my assumption is that any goofball has the right to post whatever silly brainstorm crosses his mind. No problem.

let's just hope he develops his 3-point shot (I know it's highly unlikely, but we've seen flashes of it in Toronto). That would actually make him a great player to have on the team

He looked considerably less explosive on the Spurs than he did in his last season on the Raptors so it's obvious the physical decline has already begun. If he doesn't add any type of shooting to his game, he could see himself Carmelo'd out of the league. Unfortunately, I don't think he has any interest in improving. He's a Compton kid that grew up idolizing the rapist. That won't ever change. He has far too many bad Kobe-isms in his game to ever be a plus impact player. He'll keep chucking those mid-rangers till the end of his current contract and then sign elsewhere, thankfully. He has the same disinterested body language that Aldridge has, except LMA has a reason to stay in Texas(his kids) while Demar has none.
