It's weird because they are absorbing those contracts. What are they getting to take on those contracts? Draft picks? I thought all those went to the Pelicans.

Celtics stumble into a better situation, as per their par. Kemba is a much better fit next to their youngsters than Kyrie was, tbh.
Get Kemba and Capela and the Celts will have improved themselves this offseason.

    Agreed on both counts.
Capella needs passes to be good. CP and Harden are the best at that.

Kemba isn’t too shabby. Plus their other players are very good secondary playmakers. Plus Harden isn’t nearly as concerned about passing to anybody as he is stroking his own.

Harden and CP put on assists and Capella's roll game is very good. Decent hands, will finish off dunks. The roll must be guarded and shooters in the corner need to as well. Hence why Rockets were pretty good. I just don't think Capella will do well in Boston. And paying a rolling big that's not an great one on one defender in today's NBA, isn't wise.

Charlotte is looking to trade Batum
Would be willing to take on Batum if the Hornets are legit willing to add assets to make it happen. Before the draft, I would have been okay with exchanging Bertans, Beli and Mills for Nic and a pick swap. Would have landed Doumbouya or Goga or potentially someone else the Spurs wanted more than Samanic. Now that that's over, I'd really need a first with a legit chance to convey to do a similar deal. It looks like 2020 won't be a great year to have cap space anyway. Getting a pick for $10 Million really isn't a bad deal at all. Batum has been horrible, but on paper, he's that bench SF or platoon PF the team needs, and he might be able to guide Samanic and Johnson in their development.

LOL, spurs would need to add an asset to get him, not otherwise...

So if KD and Kyrie sign with the Nets, and Kemba goes to Boston as Woj implied, the other big name FA are

    Klay (GSW?)
    Butler (Sixers?)
    Harris (No idea)
    Russell (Lakers?)
    Horford (Dallas?)
    Nephew ( him)

And there are teams with max cap space like Clips (2),Knicks (2),Kings (1),Pacers (1),Pels (1).

A bunch of non max free agents are gonna get maxed by the looks of it.

No. In fact, I think CHA would need to give up 2 picks to dump Batum for that package

Harris seems like a good fit for Denver. A forgettable player on a forgettable team.

You just can't trade Bertans, Bellinelli and Mills without adding an asset for Batum, Batum is much more useful than those three combine, Charlotte not desperate to dump Batum two years contract at all...

That would mean they didn't re-sign Milsap and that Rudy Gay would be able to guard their forward this time in the playoffs

Damn! Those are some horrible contracts. People on here act like the Spurs front office is the worst. Looking at that list should open their eyes a bit.

Except none of those teams that signed those players were contending for a chip. Gasol for 3 years 48 mil is just as bad if not worse tbh

Bertans and Belli are good assets but is Batum a good enough shooter to risk losing 3 out of our 4 best shooters?
