Samanic - very polished, needs to be more assertive physically, will need to get used to the athleticism of the NBA, but man, very good handles, first step, passing, can see why Spurs used the first 1st round pick on him.
I told you guys on draft night that Weatherspoon was a good pickup. I thought he was going undrafted, and he was one of the two guys I really wanted the Spurs to call as undrafted free agents. I didn't know what they were going to do with another guard, but I hated to see the Spurs pass him up.
I know someone said his D was poor, but I didn't think so when I watched him play. And he can flat shoot. He had a .620 TS% his senior year, and raised his 3P% to around .400. He's going to have to adjust to the speed of the NBA, and tighten up his handles, but I think he could be one of the steals of the draft.

Man, when Walker tries to guard a guy going to hole, it's like he's setting a moving pick against the other four defenders (like a Presidential escort) . . .

I don’t love Lonnie’s energy of focus on defense tonight. He’s been ok offensively when he’s got the ball, but other than that he’s playing at like 50% effort.

lol @ people in this thread saying Lonnie sucks. He's got the physical tools that every other person on that court wished they had. I'm not looking for anything else out there. His shooting has gotten better from last year as well. I'm excited he can contribute this year.

I noticed that too but I think its intentional to not simply dominate the game. He looks like a couple of levels above the other 9 players on the court, honestly.
That mid range j's form from LWIV reminds me a lot of DDR's mid range shooting form.
And between that and how lost he looks on defense we may have the new DDR!
His defense has looked good in this game. He looks better on defense than Lonnie in this game. The guy is locked in on both sides. Lonnie has taken over on offense in this quarter now though.
Is it 50% effort, or is that just him? I always worried that it's only fun for him when he's in the spotlight. Will he defend, work off the ball?
A lot of rumbling right now on Twitter from a bunch of different accounts saying Kawhi is signing with the Lakers and it will be announced later today or tomorrow..

Yeah. I'm assuming he's just trying to get his legs out from under him, but it seems like no one taught him anything on that end last season. Those months he missed with the injury are still showing up in his development.

He has high-end offensive potential but his defense is off-the-charts . . .

Walker's jumper looks much improved. He's going to make an impact this year.
Its summer league. There is no defense.
