Breaking News: Kawhi Leonard to Lakers is officially done. Both sides working on minor details at the moment before announcing deal. #Lakers #NBA
Wow we could have snatch him from Golden State with mle offer, we missed out bigtime in this! RC!

So we need a backup C? Jesus you're re ed.
If Kawhi goes to lakers it’s a bigger b*tch move than KD going to warriors. This is why I can’t stand the NBA soft cap. Get a hard cap in where teams can’t just buy a team. Lakers have drafted, and developed and managed their team pathetically but are gonna have AD, Lebron, and Kawhi
Leonard hasn't even met Raptors yet who get the final pitch.
He doesn't trust them anymore.

Could the spurs possibly nab him?
Exactly!
Wow, that's a good contract. I'm surprised he didn't get any better offers. Guess he just likes it there.
How would having a hard cap have prevented this? They literally have a lower cap number right now than all but one other team.
Or do you mean on the back end that prevents packing the roster with cheap guys right before they get paid and then using up all cap space? That would hamstring small market teams.
There would be no MLE, no ability to just hand 5 guys veteran minimum deals. Plus any players that want raises the following year can’t just be retained for any price due to the fact they were already on the team. Would also make it a lot easier to follow as a fan. As well there wouldn’t be a set “max number a team can spend as much as they like on a single player. I do like that if you stay with your team you can earn an extra year as that can help keep players if you are a small market team
