Right now Kawhi is the favorite son of the basketball world. Stood up to the big bad Spurs and didn't play and risk injury. Put a team of no names on his back and beat the GSW juggernaut. Loved by all sans the Spur fans. But once his manipulative delay is over and he makes a decision and joins the Lakers, he'll be one of the most vilified players in the league for joining the Lakers new Bron lead superteam. Particularly fans of the Clippers and Raps.

Only thing of interest here is that Shams says Leonard’s got a stronghold on the league right now. Once he makes his decision a lot of dominos are going to fall.

Really? Is there that many free agents left? Maybe he’s talking trades too?

I know right. Romana Shelburne suggested it a few days ago. Zach Lowe said the same thing.

Uncle Dennis talking about trust reminds me of that De Niro dialog in Casino......."Can I trust you? Can I trust you? Can I trust you?"

So downstairs (NBA forum) they're all in the thrall of some low level buss family Twitter leaker who said kawhi was in the bag. Be cool if a bussling busted the kawhi deal by leaking the details.

The only silver lining to Re joining the Lakers is I know how miserable he'd be about 1 month into the season

Not sure if posted already :

    https://nypost.com/2019/07/02/the-la...magic-johnson/

Snippits about Spurs in the article :

“There was one interesting question [Leonard] had for Magic: ‘Did you guys try to trade for me when I was in San Antonio?’” Turner said on Spectrum Sportsnet. “And the answer was ‘yes, but because it was Gregg Popovich and the San Antonio Spurs, and our history, they were asking for 2,000 draft picks – well, not 2,000 – like four draft picks, first-round draft picks, and we just couldn’t do that.’ And that was one of his questions.”

So Spurs asked for the same deal that got them AD it sounds like. but Magic/Lakers rebuffed. Guess more desperate to make it happen now with AD.

So what happens if the clippers pass the test? Is he going to set up another booby trap just to be sure?

If Kawhi actually gave a about this team doctors nonsense, why the is he signing with the Lakers then? A team with one of the worst records as far as player health. Their docs are the laughing stock of the league. The team that ended Steve Nash's career and achilled Kobe to death. The same medical staff that misdiagnosed Karl Malone's knee injury and rushed him to recovery too soon, ending his career during the NBA Finals(sound familiar to Durant). The same medical staff that are risking the life of Ingram(who has blood clot problems) by clearing him for basketball activities just so they can trade him for A Davis. The same medical staff that caused Lebron to miss 25+ games for the first time in his career(he played 82 games last season). The team whose youngsters are all injury prone for some mysterious reason. What does it say about their medical staff when even their youth players don't trust their doctors? Lonzo Ball had to sneak out and fly across the country to have a second opinion on his ankle and have a potential operation. Lakers got wind of this and threatened to void his contract and dragged his ass back to LA.
But... He ISN'T signing with the Lakers... So there goes ur whole argument

Ppl... Slow down... Use ur heads...

    1. Kawhi grew up hating the Lakers...
    2. Lasted year BEFORE lebron went to LA, it was rumored he wanted to be traded there... AFTER lebron went to LA, he no longer wanted to play there (the guy simply doesn't wanna play with lebron)
    3. If he SOOOO wanted to sign with the Lakers, he would have done it already...

So I think this is a case of Kawhi NOT wanting to play for the Lakers, but his team (being Lakers fans) are trying to convince him to...

Idiot none of this would even be a question if he didn't want to be in L.A.
What player in NBA history has left a team as the finals MVP. From the beginning he made the Spurs a scapegoat because he wanted to be in L.A., and not because he didn't want to be in San Antonio. Any dumbass can see that.
