He was NEVER going to resign with the Spurs after this season regardless. It's become obvious now.
Only in like 1987..

I think if Tim had stayed, in this theoretical situation, he would have. It certainly didn't help that Pop and TP's ego got in the way. We'll never know. it.
Hopefully we strike Gold in the draft again. Walker feels like a bust. Either way, Go Spurs Go!
My question for Leonard is what loyalty did the Spurs show him sitting him after his ankle injury in game 5 vs Houston in May 2017?
That was a crucial game 6, and the Spurs decided they'd hold Leonard's health more valuable than a win.
Then Leonard re-injures the ankle in game 1 vs GS in the WCF.
Same thing. Spurs hold him out for the entire series knowing they have no shot by doing so.
So Leonard then develops a non-related thigh injury sometime around September 2017. Spurs declare him out just as camp opens, and he sits October, and November, and most of December. Leonard then musters enough courage to show up for games as the year ends, though his minutes are restricted, and he's held out of playing consecutive games.
THEN, Leonard claims his thigh injury is not yet healed, declares himself out, and is never to be seen again in uniform, even though it's reported he was practicing 2 on 2 into March 2018. At this point, it shouldn't surprise people that Gregg, Parker, and Manu put his act on full tilt for the public.
There's no defending the above timeline in Leonard's favor. He's the ultimate bad guy. Every loss him and James suffer in LA will be as satisfying as any of the O'Neal-Bryant era losses in the early 00s.
I'd er with every light on in her house.
That is some backasswards logic.
Yet you say you're killing people with logic. That's hilarious.
Rumors are that she hooked up with Pelinka.
Be honest: if it wasn't a slam dunk case... (I don't know what you specialize in) would you take 2k5 in as a client?
I guess money is money...
I've learned that sometimes money isn't worth the hassle of dealing with some people. In otger words, it would have to be a really big case.
that might be the reason Kawhi wants to play in LA
that means the Spurs would have to beat the Lakers with Nephew, LeBum and AD. No way that happens
Unfortunately I don't think he will ever suffer any criticism for any of his moves . #2 is now like teflon when he's viewed by the media and by any other fanbase besides the Spurs. Nothing he can do will ever be considered bad unless he does some extreme like committing a crime.
Sports media people are even more ignorant of basic journalism, history, and economics than the MSM. Tough to do, but true.
Its weird, the BSPN types have amnesia when it comes to the 2017-2018 season for Nephew. No hard questions about his actions at all. On the rare occasion when he was asked about his last year in SA - what happened etc. , he would just say "Now is not the time to answer that question." Or "I have nothing to say about that". All robotic rehearsed answers straight from Uncle Branch Manager. And that was that.
Players are teflon while playing, but that changes when they retire. Just look at Magic. He’s mocked for pretty much everything he’s done outside of basketball, and the movie house chain he started.
I don't think Magic is terribly intelligent. He may have good advisors and people helping him build his financial portfolio, but he apparently was a nightmare in the front office. The ESPN article detailing his LAL departure indicated that he treated office staff very poorly with the Lakers.
His lack of a filter resulting in numerous warnings and a couple of sanctions against him for tampering with non-Laker NBA players under contract. He simply could not keep his pie hole shut. On a related note, that is probably why he has the HIV.................LOL!
Good summary.
Agreed. The media started loving #2 the moment they found out he wanted to be in LA. All his flaws that they once hated became cool in their eyes such as him being a mute. The media " #2 is so cool how he doesn't talk and just plays. #2 says a simple comment such as "I have to go to the bathroom." Media response "Ha ha ha #2 is very funny. Oh my god that's a knee slapper."
Yeah I have never gotten the sense that he is overly intelligent either. He built a brand, and he has been able to become incredibly successful his entire life mostly because of that brand. The smiling, fun loving, easy-going, Magic Johnson. That might be bull , but he sold it.
Because he never really speaks, or expresses himself in anyway, we will never know the full story. But I think as we have heard his ing uncle really got into his head about a variety of things. Mostly that he needed to leave Texas, and go to Los Angeles. But the way he handled it was easily the tiest thing I have seen ever in the NBA in terms of a player exiting.. if he had simply gone to the spurs the off-season after injuring his ankle, and we lost to the Warriors, and requested a trade. I would not be that mad at him. At least he was upfront and honest. He didn’t steal $19 million from us.
Timmy was the "Culture" of the Spurs. Not Pop. LMA came to play with the Spurs because of him. After he left LMA and Kawhi demanded to be traded. Pop and the Spurs owe everything to him.
Kawhi seems to be loving the spotlight
