    dangerous, malignant ignorance, sadistic, malignant megalomania.

    still has 40% approval rating, 50m+ supporters?

    oligarchy's SCOTUS5 failed to rule partisan gerrymandering, failed to protect voters' right to vote.

    America is ed and un able.
    40% approval with economic numbers like they are...
    Unbelievably bad, I would not doubt if it was some sort of record bad approval rating.

    the economy is mainly working for the top 10%, the oligarchy, as inequality keeps increasing, as household debt and college loan debt are at record levels.

    Most Americans have negative net worth, and die in debt

    ‘Worst ever!’: Washington covered in smoke from Trump’s failed fireworks display

    for those sitting on the National Mall, the massive display created so much smoke that half of the show was obscured.

    Viewers in the city and visiting from around the country had hoped for the world’s biggest fireworks display,

    Understandably, there were a lot of complaints.

    Had the fireworks been the normal size,

    viewers wondered if they would have been better if the president hadn’t doubled the display.

    It also caused so much smoke that it wafted through the city and

    even after 11:00 p.m. EST, the smoke was still going through the streets.

    Residents called it a “classic TrumpFAIL”

    < lots of smokey tweets >

    Trump’s Not-Crazy Speech Just Highlighted Norms He’s Crushed

    It was a speech that had all the excitement of an excerpt from one of Bill O’Reilly’s YA history books.

    It was a speech that had all the excitement of an excerpt from one of Bill O’Reilly’s YA history books.

    It was middle-school story time from .

    when Trump tries to speak on American values

    he inadvertently highlights all the norms he’s crushed with his explosive rhetoric and banana republic-style presidenting.

    Perhaps the most bizarre moment of all?

    When the guy who managed to avoid the Vietnam draft
    five times

    told young Americans that

    they should “join our military and make a truly great statement in life.

    And you
    should do it.”

    The latest jobs report is great news for Wall Street.

    Not so much for workers.

    This is why so many workers have been going on strike.

    Yet all this good news doesn’t mean much to middle- and working-class families:

    Workers only got an average hourly pay raise of 6 cents in June, even less than they got in May.

    Job security is the only benefit employees can count on these days.

    Low unemployment and high job creation means that nearly every American who wants to work and is able to has snagged a job by now.

    And those who lose their jobs, or decide to leave, probably won’t have a hard time finding another position.

    But millions of Americans are working part-time jobs

    when they would rather get full-time gigs,

    or at least work more hours.

    The number of people in that group has been mostly shrinking but still added up to 4.3 million workers in May.

    6 cents pay raise in June, but adjusted for inflation?

    You know, looking at the clown car that is the democratic pool of candidates I'm sort of hoping Trump gets re-elected...purely for entertainment reasons.
    Let me retire from the military first. He's also my "commander in chief" who has the nuke codes. I need this "stable genius" out before he gets somebody killed. Namely me

    The grim determination of Trump’s July 4th crowd was more terrifying than any Nuremberg-style spectacle could have ever been

    Trump’s attempt at spectacle was positively dreadful.

    But as he has been in the past,

    he was saved by the zeal of his followers,

    who, despite the rain and their obvious boredom,
    white-knuckled their way through Trump’s droning speech. (Booze helps.) For the MAGAheads, this wasn’t about fun or celebration.

    It turns out that Trump’s base isn’t in this because they’re bamboozled by fascist theatrics or swept up in Trump’s gaudy, cheap version of glamour.

    What this has always been about for the Trumpers is making a stand for white supremacy and male domination.

    What drives the Trump base isn’t actually Donald Trump himself.

    It’s the bigotry. Everything else is gravy.

    At least the MAGA rallies punctuate the crowd’s boredom with opportunities for breakout fascist chanting of “Lock her up” or “CNN sucks.”

    Trump’s fans aren’t dissuaded by his human rights abuses. If anything, they are emboldened.

    As the headline of Adam Serwer’s immediately canonic Atlantic essay tells us, “The Cruelty Is the Point.”

    “All that matters is the racism.”

    Trumpism isn’t and has never been about Trump.

    It’s about

    those who wish to impose their vision of white supremacy and male dominance on an America

    they fear might actually be starting to live up to its values of freedom and equality.

    It’s about trolling the liberals by hijacking a site
    famous as a symbol of anti-racism for their authoritarian message.

    They were standing up for their hateful vision of America.

    So you think its that Donald's approval rating is given good economic numbers. (Despite the fact that those same numbers have always been indicative of people that can actually play that game and employment numbers look good despite the fact that salaries suck)

    Good to know bootlicker, welcome to the red team ya dumbass.

    Donald Trump’s “Inoffensive” War on Reality

    in a much more casual celebration on the White House lawn, President Barack Obama said,

    “On a day like this, we celebrate, we have fun, we marvel at everything that’s been done before,

    but we also have to recommit ourselves to making sure that everybody in this country is free;

    that everybody has opportunity;

    that everybody gets a fair shot;

    that we look after all of our veterans when they come home;

    that we look after our military families and give them a fair shake;

    that every child has a good education.”

    In less than three years, as our senses were dulled

    by the crudeness of the tweets,

    the speed of the news cycle,

    the blatant quality of the lies,

    and the brutality of official rhetoric,

    Trump has reframed America,

    stripping it of its ideals,

    dumbing it down, and

    reducing it to a nation at war against people who want to join it.

    These days, that is what passes for “inoffensive,” “tame,” and “standard.”

    And There It Is

    ... he said openly what his administration (both generally and specifically to the Supreme Court) has denied for months:

    that they want a citizenship question on the census to help with redistricting.

    Will the DoJ lawyers, looking right now for a bull reason for the question, resign en masse?

    This is why the courts always go against him. Kind of hard to go in favor when Trump doesn't even hide what he wants to do.

    The funny thing is that he doesn't even realize he's self owning most of it the time.

    what's it matter? that question should be on there but realistically if we lived in a nation that had its borders secure we wouldn't even be talking about this. you skip over the real issue because your poor little heart can't take it.

    One question. Why is it wrong to want a citizenship question on the census?

    I get that he mislead with the reason he wants it, but why would anyone find this unreasonable beyond being Anti-Trump?
