    looking at all the additions to the team, it seems like we're trying to move the needle in that direction. that said, any team with DePression taking 30 mil of salary cap space is hard to label as LOB material. thoughts?

    He is taking 27M, fyi. And hr is getting paid market value for his production imo. Ik thinm the hard part is that he need 3 and d guys all around him. He spaces and paces his team well and is a willibg passer. Morr chemostry, younger guys improving, and Caroll is a good fit should make us contenders this year. Not afraid of any team out there.

    Any playoff-level team can win it this year. Spurs should focus on not crapping the bed and winding up on the bottom half of the bracket once again.

    Lot of burning on Derozian which I agree as a Championship main piece absolutely not.
    LMA Championship material? No.

    Will be great to see continued young development this season. But as for Champions?

    Popped is content to make the playoffs and be full of himself while having wine dinners. I'll give anyone million to one odds $$.

    If PATFO had genuine interest on Cousins, I would say YES. A lot of people are saying he’s a risk. And PATFO taking that risk says a lot imo

    Difficult to say...considering there are a lot of new faces...but Pop could have a good way to sell the chance to win it all is some good coincidences alignes before and during the season...considering that :

    1) Next year Gs in not going to be the monster they used to and ther's a decent chance they are not deep enough, in a stacked western conference, to go to the play offs;

    2) N° 2 could choose to stay in the north and Raptors, also if he stays, are good but certainly not invulnerable and in any case we should face them just in the finals;

    3) if n° 2 comes West his choice is between a team that just made the play offs (again, good but not impossible to face) and a team that has, with him included, three injury risky superstars (LBJ had last year the first sign of it) plus a roster to assemble from the start...also here the chances something goes wrong are big to say the minimum...;

    4) ther's an argument to say that next season two to four of the best five nba teams are now in the east (Raps with n°2; Bucks, Phila, Boston); in the west quite all other 14 teams looks improved from last year but none of them, considering talent, experience and depth, looks to be out of our range;

    5) we choose evidently to rebuild on the fly but with an experienced and, can we say it, possibly hungry and angry veteran core (DDR, RG and LMA have never won a le and neither has recent acquisition DMCarroll; Mills and Belli are the only veterans with le experience and the former is considered our leader while the latter is probably going for his last career ride with our team)...if Pop chose to start to picture them a last chance frame, they should be all in the perfect state of mind to go for it with all of their energies (that's why I'm not totally opposed to a Cousins signing-probably at the expense of Metu if he has not given already some positive sign before his injury...DMC just fits in this limited one year picture)...in this frame, the young guys should supply the necessary aid for having a decent regular season and a consequent good position from the starting of the play off race;

    6) we are deeeeep...potentially, 15/17 players all playable at least during the regular season (the only newbye on the team with a chance to have minutes is Walker, while the other young guys have at least one year experience playing quite the full season, play offs included; plus our supposed two way players, DE and QW, are mature enough to potentially contribute from the starting).

    Why would they have a LOB mindset? This is a team with 7 players on rookie contracts, they’re not ringing this year. This team is closer to the 2003 team without Duncan.

    I think coaching is going to be very important in a situation where there's sufficient parity among playoff teams. Aside from staying healthy that is.

    Absolutely.

    Pock has shown ability to coach in playoffs when needed. Game 1 WCFs before KL got Zaza'd was impressive. I am not in the camp that says the Golden gots would have rolled after Game 1. No way in .

    But this is also the dude who....we don't need to go over the numerous examples again. Appointing Patty Mills as your "Leader" and giving him crucial minutes including the 2nd half of a closeout Game 7 says it all.

    I hope he can do well. If not, at least stay the out of the way and let the players play decide it.

    yeah and you can count on Pop not adjusting in the playoffs which puts our team at a disadvantage just like in last seasons playoffs. With players like Cousins, Bradley, Stanley Johnson and maybe even Iguodala available for the low and PATFO not doing anything besides adding Caroll it shows you that they don't really care about contending

    you could be right but wait a little...there are still lots of teams with more money available than us...it could be just that we are trying something or at least decided for a wait and see approach...

    I hope not. I just saw the team pulled off a move for Marcus Morris which I didn't expect at the time so I am in good team spirit.

    I don't like the 3 years for Carrol and do wonder why the heck they had to give him one more year but at least it's a low cost deal, not a monstrosity like Pau and Mills were when signed. Anyways the team is in win now mode now. I do hope the young guards push for minutes from Pop's favorites and we shall see if Pop is really hungry depending on his over-reliance on his old favorites considering this roster.

    I'd love the Spurs to get Iguodala. I think that's the kind of guy that does move the needle. Former franchise player that got over himself.
