So neph apperrntky been recruiting paul geroge for two weeks now and Geroge formally requested a trade in the proccess.

Thunder wanted to continue with george but didnt want the AD situation to happen with their team.
Isn't that tampering with a player under contract to another team. KY the GM. Don't think that will work long term.

If he went to the Lakers I honestly would have lost all respect for him
    ...ok

Anyway, as it has been said everyone(save asswiper2k5) should be able to see that all of this was inevitable. He always wanted to go home and he was going to whoever over in order to make that happen. The Spurs and Toronto both go ed over but both got a ring out of him. You really can't ask for much more now that his intentions are out in the open.

I posted last season that the Clippers were the Spurs backup plan to Toronto. If Toronto would've backed out a second time then the Clippers would've gotten Kawhi. The Spurs would've had Harris and picks. The Spurs didn't want to see Kawhi four times a year and didn't want to do him and his uncle any favors. I wanted Harris over Derozan because I thought he was a better fit, but understood them choosing Toronto as a trading partner.
Were the Clippers offering both draft picks? If so, Spurs should have taken that package. If you told me before the Derozan trade that the Clippers are offering Harris plus both draft picks in last year's draft (I would have wanted that as a minimum), I would have taken that deal over Derozan. I think the Spurs made a mistake sending him to the Raptors. He got a ring and went to the Clippers anyway.

That rumored package wasn’t some great haul the Spurs missed out on. Plus they’d have had to resign Harris to 5 years $180 mil. C’mon.

On a side note, he will be booed by the Lakers, Spurs & maybe even the Raptor fans. The good news for the Spurs is that both La teams are beatable and they are not as good as the Warriors with Durant.

Tobias Harris is just "a guy" and Philly let J Butler go. $180MM for an empty stat guy.

I’d rather have Harris and a haul of young players and picks tbh, if that was even on the table. A team of insta balla, white, Harris, gay and Aldridge with a young bench and picks for years sounds a lot better right now.

Well, at least there's more parity in the league next season.

But do the Spurs even make the playoffs?

    Lakers
    Clippers
    Warriors
    Jazz
    Rockets
    Trail Blazers
    Nuggets
    Mavericks

    Spurs?
    1. Clippers - Kawhi will suddenly start playing like he never was injured
    2. Nuggets - All young players with experience now. Dont see them trending down
    3. Spurs - more complete team with DJ back and added SF depth. Growth of Lonnie will also help the Spurs
    4. Lakers - two injury prone mega stars surrounded by scrubs.
    5. Warriors - with Klay out, it will be tough. But theyll still be good
    6. Blazers - pretender team will always be in the playoffs but wont ever be champs
    7. Mavericks - is Porzingas back? I feel this is a well coached team with more talent now. So theyll make the playoffs
    8. Rockets - last season they started the season awful but they bounced back. The rockets did nothing this offseason. Theres no bouncing back if they start awful again.

At least Harris spaces floor. comparing empty stats between DeRozan makes no sense. Harris would do more for what the spurs needs now that DeRozan by a mile.

Who said you'd have to re-sign him? Let him walk if he didn't fit, or wanted too much money.

All 3 would look stupid doing that tbh
