From what somebody posted, it was strategic. They had to make it a sign-and-trade deal for Carroll to preserve the MLE for Morris. However, an S&T has to be for 3 years. So they had to change Carroll's contract, to 3 yrs, to make the $ available for Morris. One of the delightful technicalities of the CBA.

I hope not. I just saw the team pulled off a move for Marcus Morris which I didn't expect at the time so I am in good team spirit.

Anyways the team is in win now mode now. I do hope the young guards push for minutes from Pop's favorites and we shall see if Pop is really hungry depending on his over-reliance on his old favorites considering this roster.

I'd love the Spurs to get Iguodala. I think that's the kind of guy that does move the needle. Former franchise player that got over himself.

He's definitely gettable.
Ball is on PATFO court. I expect he would negotiate a buyout later/eventually but any other team can definitely cut in with a deal to the Grizzlies b4 then. There is a chance he never is bought out and is instead traded.

I think the Spurs would need to trade anyways, not sure they have enough money to sign him outright without a trade.
