Not gonna lie. I've never seen a great game from the team and Lonnie at the same time. This is why I hesitate ti say he will be in our rotation to start the season. Quindary looks like he can take Mills and Belli's spot already.

Samanic looked like he qill be the best player on that floor one day.
I think Pop will work that out and scream at Lonnie if he doesnt pass the freaking ball

Good QDairy comparison with White. He’s so poised and built. If we ever move Mills for an insurance Big, QDairy fills the role imo
Personally I’d like for Q to take Beli’s Spot at this point, he’d be far more valuable. Just need to see if he can hit the three consistently.

Has Weatherspoon signed the two way deal yet? He seems to be playing himself into some money somewhere. I wonder if some teams come sniffing around.

    Spurs own his rights regardless.

A team in Europe can sign him regardless, no? NBA teams can tell his agent they have guaranteed money and to decline a two-way deal, right?

Yes. The Spurs would still retain his NBA rights.

It's clear by watching them play that Luka has a higher ceiling though because of his skill and size imo. KJ looks more polished now than Luka though
I agree. Luka has higher upside. His play right now is due to a lack of conditioning and strength. But it is obvious that he does have the requisite athleticism and skill.

Johnson is not a bad pick for #29. He's got length and can shoot. At 19, there's a lot of upside. I project him to be better than Lonnie Walker.

I agree I think Luka can be really excelent on offense but not really good on defense. He will definitely need to be paired with a defensive Center who can rebound really well.

Keldon is a great 6th man he was actually my pick for 19 so super happy we got him at 29.

Weatherspoon was a great pick at 49 and perfect timing as he can replace Forbes and Mills next season after getting a year in G League.

Or he needs point guards who can rebound like Murray

I don't think people realize how sorry the compe ion in Summer League is compared to playing against NBA'ers. Players who go on to have good careers typically dominate in the Summer. They have a couple of great games that show they are head and shoulders above the compe ion and then get shut down. There's nothing to gain & nothing to prove. I recall Tim Duncan may have been the exception. He struggled a little in his early games.

The new draftees will have to develop mentally and physically before they sniff the floor in regular season NBA games. What we are seeing now is potential more than anything. Belinelli and Mills would tear up the Summer Leaguers and its not even a question.

you're right but if all 3 of our rookies have consistent games of scoring 15+ points that tells me that they can dominate the SL next year which means they can get into the rotation. With them being 19, 19 and 22 that's very promising

Preempted by video games. What a time to be alive.
    Follow the money.

ESPN (anybody!) would sell more ads to a bigger gaming audience than showing NBA summer league scrimmages.

The fact that Luka went #19 and Johnson went #29 is curious because Johnson looks like the better player, tbh I like Weatherspoon more.
Right now, he is the better player, but if you take a guy who is 6'11", can handle the ball and shoot, and has a 38" vert, and he does put it all together, you've got a ing monster, and a ceiling way above Keldon's, and I really like Keldon.

Leo that is what they say but not sure if he will ever reach it. If you are gonna do a potential high ceiling pick, I wish the Spurs would go for a prospect with elite athleticism, instead of a skill and size, seemingly soft euro.
You know a lot of 6'11" guys with a 38" vert? They don't exactly grow on trees...

Agreed. I'm hoping to see a little more from Lonnie Walker. His athleticism is fantastic but I'd like to see him use his smarts and court awareness more. Be a playmaker.

true but if he can be a scoring threat of the bench to start with I'm cool with that. He'll then have to improve on defense and court awareness with the bench group

I believe Duncan was told to play left-handed in his summer league games.
