I bet this thread goes hundreds of pages, and is still around next season like the Kawhi thread. I still can't believe Bertans is gone.
Or, maybe, all three teams, WSH, BRK, and SAS realize that Mulitinov is a ing dinosaur.

I've got no complaints. PATFO just felt he couldn't contribute enough against the Nuggets and got another player who did step up in the playoffs.
Spurs tend to value players who perform better in the playoffs. They've consistently gotten rid of guys who did not step up their game.
Davis was pretty good here tbh. Hope he has success somewhere else. Pop benching him for the likes of Beli at the first sign of trouble proved he didnt know how to utilize him.
I don't miss this guy at all. Good luck to him, but I hated watching him get pushed around and non-compete for rebounds. God.
Yet people love Mills, Beli, and Forbes getting absolutely obliterated on defense.
Each of those guys has another skill besides shooting. Bertans literally does nothing else.
Pop really did put him in the doghouse after that altercation, and that effectively neutered Bertans. He was pretty chippy in Europe, and that was one of the things I really wanted him to bring to SA. I think he could have been of more value that what Pop got out of him.
Who loves that?
Wut? Please tell me the other NBA level skills that Patty has that doesn't involve an espresso....
All those guys including Davis are shooters that the bed in the postseason outside of Bryn...
Again, Davis was never a "Pop Guy" so the suckers just on him while excusing how terrible Beli and Patty were....
I liked Bertans.... His real problem is that post knee issues you could see that he wasn't as quickfooted as what his mind wanted on defense. He also seemed really hesitant to put on weight and muscle to fight in the post. It left him hurting defensively and I can't really blame him for it. He seemed to be a compe ive guy and try but on a team with questions defending and rebounding his strong points didn't over come his weak ones when a good value trade was offered.
I actually don't mind Forbes on the team so long as he's always on the court with people who can defend.
My issue with Forbes is why? If you have Patty (bad contract) why have Forbes... I honestly like Bryn slightly better as a player because i beleive he is better able to run the offense as a pg and ever so slightly more capable defender. Knowing Patty is a lifer why not turn bryn into an assest?
It's really tough to let go a guy who shot 48% from the arc while being massively overused in the playoffs.
Only 8 players shot better than .420 from 3P with >350 attempts. Forbes was #6 on the list. No matter how you define elite, that's elite.
At the beginning of the season I whined a lot that Forbes and DeRozan were unplayable together. And they were. But by the end of the season they had improved their D, and I don't have any problem admitting it. Would you rather that they didn't improve, so you could have more to complain about?
Forbes put on a lot of muscle in the off season, and I think it took him a while to learn how to use it to his advantage. DeRozan obviously committed to learning how to play team D, and put a lot of effort into it. They aren't great defenders, by any means. But they aren't unplayable together anymore. So now it's a matter of putting the right players with them.
Forbes isn't indispensable. But unless you can come up with a player who can fill that 3P void, while doing additional things, on the Spurs' budget? He's pretty much indispensable.
You're a dumbass if you don't think Mills has no NBA skills. Just an outright dip . You can say he's overpaid, fine, but not that he has no NBA skills beyond shooting.
Bertans has a lot more NBA skills than Patty Mills, tbh.![]()
Please do share...
Despite being in the league for 10+ years, he's horrible defensively, can't manage an NBA clock to save his life, still a below average playmaker for a PG.....
I'm legit very interested on what else you think he does on an average NBA level besides shoot the ball....
How many players who Spurs fans claim will blossom when freed from Pop's reins ever go on to do anything? Of the hundred or so examples over the years ... maybe Stephen Jackson and whatever Ian Mahinmi did to trick teams into giving him over $100 million in his career![]()
Or belli for that matter
Well I used to be a big critic around 2009. A couple off the top of my head that stood out was Hedo Turkoglu and Beno Udrih.
You're gonna be waiting a while for an answer to this one.
Don’t forget Mr. Body also liked Pau’s corpse around for the “culture.” Lol Patty and Beli having skills other than 3 point chucking. So I don’t get what MB is trying to convince you about.
Davis for all his defensive limitations could still get you a block or two. While Patty and Beli just roll down the red carpet for opposing players at the rim.
jimmer was cut by the spurs and then became a china hall of famer
Hate to be that guy but Kawhi just had a career year, tbh.
Danny Green also. George Hill did pretty well for himself too. Baynes, Joseph. Quite a few actually.
Being the team barista I guess?
