The only thing that the Spurs could've done different was hold off on the trade of Bertans and hold off on signing Carroll on that three year deal until Morris actually signed his contract.
There is no recourse. He never signed here. Silver can't do , not that he would anyway. NY is a big market.

For Covington- belinelli + forbes + a 1st
For Oubre (more complicated)- convince Phoenix to allow the S&T by offering them a 1st and convince oubre's camp to take the MLE because theres no money on the market left for him. His choice would be take the QO or the security of the MLE.
Theres even a scenario where you could do both.
I’ve said many times before on here, if you are still a player, you should not be allowed to own/run a sports agency that’s represents players in the league you are still participating in as a player. It’s creates way too many conflicts of interest. Other sports, fine, but not the one you are still playing in.

I mean honestly anyone who chooses the Knicks organization over the Spurs probably isn't someone you want on your team. It's trading Bertans for basically nothing that really sucks. We'll still have the MLE, but the MLE probably not as good as having the trade chip would have been.

Reneging on deals in the NBA is pretty rare. Over 99% of the time, if a player/agent agree to a contract, they'll end up signing it. Bad luck, tbh.
