The only thing that the Spurs could've done different was hold off on the trade of Bertans and hold off on signing Carroll on that three year deal until Morris actually signed his contract.
Didn't the Spurs need to make those other moves first or am I mistaken?

Welp, there's a clearer path for Lonnie seeing regular minutes now behind Derozan at the 3. Still sucks though.

Maybe it pushes them to trade Beli and Forbes for a Marvin Williams type.
Exactly what I was thinking. Maybe it pushes them to trade those two since they know they have an actual need now.

This is re ed. We would lose a starter and the Knicks already signed 3 PFs. It makes no sense for them to go after Morris

I need somebody to tell me if the Bertans/Carroll trade can be re-negotiated. The Spurs got royally ed here. League should interfer, imho.

Let Morris go sign anywhere but at least re-do the Bertans/Carroll trade.
Carroll trade is done. Bertans is gone.

Spurs are a lottery team at this point tbh...
I understand your pessimism. You have Jason Garrett in your avi on a Spurs forum.
Or some cat that looks like him in a clown Cowboys hat...
    Either way.

What hope is there, when you're a Cowboys fan?

Reneging on deals in the NBA is pretty rare. Over 99% of the time, if a player/agent agree to a contract, they'll end up signing it. Bad luck, tbh.

Reggie Bullock failed his physical at the last second, which has opened up just enough room to entice Morris.

Yea this is a major cucking

Spurs should file for the "Bertans" exception - when a player is traded for salary cap prior to signing a player that agreed to a contact and then said player decides to go to another team....

They should have known better than to jump the gun with Bertans and Carroll. This isn't without precedent. The Kings just did it last year with Bjelica and Ferrell. The Thunder gave Burks (took them up on it) and Muscala the option after George altered their course.

Once again, Spurs do something stupid, can't catch a break and get screwed.

This league is a disgrace. Once an agreement in principle is reached, teams shouldn't be allowed to continue to negotiate with players.

Did PATFO move on, now that Bellineli is being shopped again?
Hmmm I do wonder how this is related to the Belli trade rumors. Sucks for the Spurs they definitely were ready to move on with Davis Bertans but traded him to make space sign Morris. They are now looking for a forward who can shoot. Hm?

nothing spurs can do as far as those deals. they're done.

they hypothetically could have legal recourse against morris for damages, but i dont foresee that happening tbh

At least we opened a spot for Thomas Robinson. I’d rather have more size on the roster instead of what is out there.
Have you seen Robinson in Summer League? I'd rather have trey Lyles easily over him.

Instagram Baller needs to switch representation or he can GTFO. Klutch players need to be blacklisted for this.

Well, that's an asshole move if I ever saw one.

Klutch, Morris, and the Lakers (just by default).

Have fun wasting a year of your career with the Knicks.

As you said, free agency relies on word - otherwise offer sheets need to be signed and they aren't. But this should send a signal to all teams to change their practices. It's probably a momentous time in NBA history and it could pave the way for a different business dealing in the future. Some people are stuck in blaming the PATFO but they are missing what is actually happening here

Barrett is a 2 and Knox not ready, he's gonna get a lot of minutes at the 3...
