prayingdog.jpg @ Morris signing with the Spurs anyways.

Trey Lyles as the backup plan is the only name that makes sense, really. Even though that's quite a fall...

    That Haynes article does say:

"But there is optimism Morris and the Spurs will finalize their contract, sources said."

but there's a bad feeling in the air now that this is public.

I think I already know the answer, but is there any way salary / cap-wise Spurs can get closer to the Knicks offer? Or is their ceiling the MLE?

Someone get that guy some Whataburger gift cards!

Instagram Baller needs to switch representation or he can GTFO. Klutch players need to be blacklisted for this.
Who has IB on instagram? Someone tell him to back up his words about his loyalty to the Spurs.

You up the ante by offering more years bruh, you can offer a 3rd partially guaranteed year brah,
Hey dumbass, we're already offering more guaranteed money at $20M. Since next year is a free agent desert, he'll want out THEN with his opt out, not 2021 when there are better options available.

We could've kept Bertans and Carrol and still be better than last year. Morris ed us. Majority of fans don't even have a team they are loyal to anymore. Players and player fans rule everything. Sure there is more parity now, but this league is utter trash. The sense of en lement is through the roof and there is clear player vs team mentality out there. Morris and his entire inbred family.

WTF? is this a joke? if true F this dude because this will make our off-season go from really solid to complete trash if we traded Bertans for nothing to give Carroll a 3 year deal. this clown is going to get boo'd more than leonard if so. wtf man, reneging doesnt happen often at all, so this is some BS

Could they sue Klutch? Might be more to the point... Ask the NBA as a league to join the suit as a supporting party due to the damage it does to the league Free Agency process.
no, klutch is just doing what their client instructs. the agreement or "promise" was between the spurs and morris. the legal theory would be "promissory estoppel" because the spurs acted to their detriment (trading bertans, adding a 3rd year to carroll's deal) based on reasonable reliance on assurances given by morris. even if those assurances/promises werent in the form of a binding contract, courts could enforce based on the spurs damages.

but yeah, this is all just a mental exercise. dallas went through the same thing with deandre. not the first time this has happened. though i dont know that dallas made any specific roster moves purely because of deandre's commitment, the way spurs did with bertans/carroll

So what, is he for sure leaving? The tweets imply he is considering the Knicks' offer. If it was a done deal, they would have said so. My read of the situation is the Knicks have this extra money now because of the Bullock situation, suddenly offered a new contract to Morris, and that's given him pause--but we don't necessarily know which way he is leaning.
More to my point, the Hayne's article leaves some hope that he won't actually back out of the agreement with the Spurs... we've been a bit alarmist here. Thought my sense is he probably is gone.

Dejounte about to find himself on the trade block. The NBA needs to sanction Kluth and Paul for this. You can’t allow this in your league to happen.

Maybe we could offer it to Iggy, but I have a feeling he's just going to go to the Clips no matter what.

Knicks have already signed Julius Randle, Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis. Morris doesn't exactly fit ... but that'd be a lot of money to walk away from.

Don't be upset that you missed that he is looking for even more guaranteed money and he can be offered a 3rd year that is partially guaranteed to do it.

This is a negotiating ploy by Rich and Klutch for MORE MONEY and threatening to sign with another team is a way to facilitate MORE MONEY than he was offerred.

To deny this is about MONEY just makes you look foolish.
It's about money THIS YEAR, you wit. He wants out next summer, unless he suffers some catastrophic injury. That's the barren FA year. He might get a $20M/yr deal next summer.

The trading risk for some in the Spur's roster has gone up considerably now - me thinks the Spurs could be forced to trade one of the sacred cows now that this has blown up
