And Adam Silver will smile.. shrug and say it's great for the players!

Unprofessional. Would this result in Morris getting blackballed by other GMs? Sure hope so.
Btw, unless the pay is materially better, one should consider no state income taxes in Texas vs the approx 8.82% state income tax of New York.

Yeah, but impossible, Spurs are never doing that, they are not the Knicks. By the way, the Knicks, Morris and Rich Paul, good riddance. If he ends up on the team somehow, send his ass as far as possible on a trade for virtually anybody. Sad to lose Davis for this, while not being a very good player, he is still young and somewhat improving, plus he's elite in shooting, which is always valuable.

And I really hope Murray dumps Rich Paul for that, if he doesn't fire Morris.

They should have known better than to jump the gun with Bertans and Carroll. This isn't without precedent. The Kings just did it last year with Bjelica and Ferrell. The Thunder gave Burks (took them up on it) and Muscala the option after George altered their course.

Once again, Spurs do something stupid, can't catch a break and get screwed.

This league is a disgrace. Once an agreement in principle is reached, teams shouldn't be allowed to continue to negotiate with players.
How the did the Spurs do anything stupid? They had to trade away Bertans and sign - and - trade for Carrol to make the numbers work. They acted in "good faith" signing Morris to an agreement and got ed over in the last second (when his representation was still shopping his services).

Just like Ferrell, Bjelica and Jordan before him, Morris and his representation acted unprofessionally in thos situation. Sucks for the Spurs now they need to either trade away more assets (to acquire a similar player) or go looking in the trash heap for another combo forward.

Would anyone be interested in Kyle Korver? Does he have anything left or do the Spurs just need more Defense at this point?

Someone already ran the numbers. He'd make more money playing in SAS. This is him not wanting to work, wanting a cush place to play for a year until next summer.

I mean if I'm the Knicks, this is a pretty ballsy move to over another NBA franchise when at most it nets you a super late 1st rounder and more likely a 2nd rounder.

I guess when you are absolutely scraping the bottom barrel of the NBA, you just don't give a anymore.

Nothing. It's the Spurs, and for that reason David Stern Deux and the NBA don't care.
So just curious, what do you think another front office would do or would be allowed to do by the NBA?

People, the days of players sacrificing for the team are gone. When will y'all get this through your heads? Today's players are going to put themselves first and do whats6best for THEMSELVES not the TEAM or any organization. If you can't accept that then maybe modern professional sports arent for you.
Actually Morris did it for the Suns and got messed over.

He gave them a deal to stay with his bro. He got screwed.

Maybe he doesn't realize this is the Spurs and not the Suns. Classic Kansas University education.

They ran the numbers wrong... $15 vs $10 on an annual basis will work out in favor of the $15.

Lots of young players seemed loyal at one point and still ditched their teams. This is today’s NBA and it all started with Lebron’s pussy ass.
No it didn't. It started with Kobe forcing his way to the Lakers on draft day because he knew he wasn't good enough to elevate a small-market team.

This "player empowerment era" all started with him getting to collude with the Lakers and then have the media blame the Hornets for it.

Are the Knicks offering a 1 or 2 year deal? If it's only a 1 year deal then Morris would be dumb to sign with them. Yeah, I know his idea is opting out from his player option to become a free agent next season, but what about if things don't go according to his plans? He could still have SA's 10 millions offer as cushion.

    If you consider:

-taxes (like someone said it would only really be a 1.2 millions difference pero year between Knicks and Spurs' offer).
-guaranteed money (Spurs offering that player option for year 2).
-Compe iveness (Knicks will be a trainwreck next season).
-And finally, honoring your word and not doing something for which teams might see you badly in the future.

Then Morris signing with the Spurs over the Knicks is the more reasonable outcome.

Especially when you only pay the NY tax for home games. And the $10 million is still taxed on road games.

$15 million from Knicks will be more money than $10 million from Spurs.

smh, he would be better off on the Spurs and make a playoff run, and showcase his talents to other teams to "secure the bag" as they say. btw, I live in Phoenix, AZ, and am a long-time Suns fan. The Morris twins were trouble makers - both arrested for assault in 2015 and both were involved in some team fights and getting into it with coaches re: playing time. Not sure how relevant these occurrences are to this situation, but these two don't have the character track-record consistent with the Spurs organization values and beliefs.

I saw that, too. Still, he's eating most of those gains just living in NYC. I figure the attraction is pride (he just thought the league owed him more), not having to do anything compe ive for New York, and just hanging out in the city.

Honestly if the only price to ing over Rich Paul and the Lakers was losing Marcus Morris for a year, I'd pay that every time
its not the losing out on morris that hurts. its that we gave away bertans and added a 3rd guaranteed year to carroll for nothing

It is not even 10m from Spurs. It's something like 9.3m.
