Maybe just Iggy. But Singleton is still a free agent and REALLY seems to fit the bill more than any of the guys in this thread.

I'm holding out hope that Marcus Morris signs with the Spurs. If he goes to the Knicks, here's a look at what the Spurs could do with their $9.2 million MLE.
Maybe just Iggy. But Singleton is still a free agent and REALLY seems to fit the bill more than any of the guys in this thread.
Wait, Chris Singleton? The player Kawhi would have been if the Spurs never traded for him?
Was thinking might as well go for Bullock but I was never a fan but he fits the bill.
The 6-8 defensive-minded combo forward who shot 50 percent from three last season in Europe, that Chris Singleton.
I was mildly okay with Lyles but didn't realize Rich Paul reps him. Lol, that ain't happening. A 23 year old flatlined/declining player that no one's burning a path to his door.
I didn't realize he finally got decent. Always saw him as alterna-universe Kawhi if the Spurs never made him who he is.
Pretty sure TJastal or someone like him trolled the board in 2012 saying Singleton was the better player than Kawhi and that the Spurs made a mistake.
Iggy seems like a money guy. He never gave GS any discounts, encouraged Turner to take that POR contract and run, has a lot of investments, etc. Doesn't strike me as a guy that would take a discount to ring chase.
Bullock looks intriguing but I'm just basing it on that YT vid since I don't really watch scrub teams. If he's a solid defender and it's just plantar fasciitis I'd take him, tbh.
Could take a chance on Iggy if they think he's got anything left. Bullock is the best out of the rest because of the shooting, though like Chinook suggested it might pay to cast a wider net.
Isn’t Bullock more of a 2/3 than a 3/4?
What about Anthony Randolph? He's been pretty good in Europe the last few years and is long and mobile with some range on his jumper.
Yeah, Bullock and Holiday are both 3/2s.
Better option will be to trade for someone or take a big to fill the roster.
I’m not fond of others except iguo but he is a long shot
Option Z: Keep the MLE and wait for the buyout market
Yes, but I'm on board because he can be a volume 3pt shooter which helps everything IMO.
I dont understand, regardless of Morris, why SA wouldn’t be trying to trade for Iggy? SA definitely has the assets and if he is a good fit, go get him vs waiting?
Mills + Forbes + 1st (maybe it would be 2 firsts for Mills but Forbes makes it 1?).
Not like Memphis isn’t rebuilding for a couple years and it would not materially impact their cap situation functionally. Good mentor for Ja/JJJ and others?
he and Chris Singleton would probably be the two best players we could bring from Europe, although I also like Quincy Miller (and Melli who signed with the Pelicans)
There's little benefit to keeping the full MLE for that. They could spend $4 Million one a guy like Singleton and still have enough left to beat out most offers on the buyout market. Unless the rules changed, the min exception reduces by a prorated value starting early in the season (don't remember if it's day one or some time in the first month). The MLE only prorates after 1/10. So by February, the min exception is worth like $1 Million while the MLE still has like 75 percent of its value.
You don't trade Forbes or a pick for Iggy (definitely not both). He's not worth it. If he were, someone would have taken him and just paid the toll to Memphis at the start. Andre gets bought out and you want to throw the MLE at him? That makes some sense even if it's not my favorite thing. But you don't erase your guard depth for a wing when you already have multiple wings to play and the ability to sign another in free agency.
Spurs would have plenty of depth with moving 2 of 3 of Beli/Mills/Forbes no problem. Spurs need another competent wing more than they need guard depth of Mills/Forbes and there just aren’t any difference makers in FA left.
My point was IF you feel Iggy is a great fit like OP said, then you have to consider a trade, no?
Spurs got a peak at Cheick Diallo a couple seasons ago and put up some stats late last season.
Eh....

No. Forbes is going to play a lot of minutes next year barring injury. He could be the most consistently good guard on the team. He's not untouchable or anything, but you don't move him for Iggy when dude hasn't been a good regular-season player in years. As a buyout candidate, Iggy could make sense. But losing more depth to get a bench forward seems weird, even if you use the MLE to bring Weatherspoon up and find another player to help the rotation.
Most folks don't think Carroll was worth Bertans, but he was obviously worth the MLE. The two methods of acquisition aren't the same.
I love this idea. Wow...
