Late Monday night update on DT Vernon Broughton from 24/7.

"I just spoke with someone regarding Broughton. He announced on his Instagram live that the announcement might actually come in a week or two. The person I spoke with said it could be a ploy and an announcement would drop in the next day or so, or it could be the family slowing things down a little bit. I asked this person if slowing it down would change the decision, and I was told the family was a little overwhelmed right now, but they don't believe the decision or video would change. This is one of the weirder endings to a recruitment that I thought would be fairly straight-forward, but that seems to be the case with a lot of them in this cycle. I'll update when I know more."

Does this feel like the Jackson Jeffcoat recruitment to anyone else? I may be revealing my age/obsession but I seem to remember the staff fighting negative recruiting angles and having to re-implant themselves to win out.

Edit: anybody else drinking o’s and wishing they were celebrating a big recruiting victory?

Yes and yes, as of right now.

I am anxious to see if Stone, or even Milroe, will show up for the annual night camp at the end of this month.

Surprisingly there hasn't been much talk of the camp yet and we're only about 12 days out.

How much is it heating up on yalls sites for Evans recruitment, Rjv? Do most feel like y’all have a legit shot with Bama seemingly slowing down on him or do y’all feel he’s just slow playing everybody that shows him a lot of love?

Samples will be back, don't care what SMU has offered him, unless he is the OC I don't see him staying there long. I think Texas will have an opening and he will likely be offered it. He is exactly what we need in a recruiter.

If he draws it out until next weekend and goes to College Station instead of Austin, I think it's more than safe to say the Ags found a way to get back in it.
