Don't concern yourself with that. This isn't like the Mack Brown days wen we had nothing behind Gilbert. If Stone comes to Texas he is going to have to compete with a lot of other great QBs to earn the starting job. All I can say is, Herman/Beck knows how to recruit QBs.

2021 WR Quay Davis of Dallas Skyline told 24/7 today that he's 100% committed despite Ra'Shaad Samples leaving for SMU.
Texas is where he wants to be and he's focused on recruiting the 2021 class.

Damn, Giles is putting in work. How awesome would it be to get Collins to shut it down early. I know he wants his visits but it’d be nice to get him on board before the season starts.

There is NO WAY Herman passes on huge talents the way Mack did in 2008 and not take a QB at all with virtually nothing behind Colt risking everything on the promises and hopes of one talent in 2009.

The early outlook on the 21' class looks epic. Milroe @ QB, McRee and Davis @ TE and Davis plus potentially Earle and maybe Neville @ WR?? Who knows with RB, hopefully Wheaton.
Good chance at landing 2 top 5 OT's, if not the top 2 and real good Center. Get a mauling Guard (Jackson, Foster, or Conner)
On the flip side the DL options are endless. Best positions early on are probably Sanders, Turner, and Thomas and maybe Adeleye if Milroe jumps on board.
Also, I'd love to get Landon Jackson, but this has an Alfred Collins feel. A legacy that visits a bunch but ultimately sides with the legacy school.
I'm sure McRee knows that's the staff's plan.

This is a head scratcher, but for 2 years in a row, there isn't a difference maker DT. If Texas is going to fill the nose tackle spot, they are going to have to find someone out of state. There is nothing in state. Hopefully someone will emerge after this coming season.

Adeleye can be a NT. He's playing it this year for his high school team (or he was in spring football). I think Marcus Burris could be one as well, but I wouldn't consider him a Texas lean right now. Guys like Turner, Thomas, and Banks are 4i's.
