Ah yes game 7 of the 2006 finals. Pop pulled the starters out 5 seconds into the game and rode Beno, Finley, Barry, Oberto and Horrry the whole game to the two point victory. Can't believe we pulled it out.
Also, KP had issues with knicks long before last season. Not sure Spurs could have done anything to soil the ground, hypothetically ....

Before 6, that was the most soul crushing playoff moment. Worse than Fisher’s .4 shot
Lol Knicks playin other games cause they suck at basketball.
Oh spurs got the last laugh and dodged a bullet. Morris isnt even smart enough off the court to do simple math, dont wanna see that dumbass decision making on the court in any jersey, let alone a silver and black one.
2,276 days and counting since last Laker playoff game...
Disagree. That was a big loss for the Spurs. Even worse, Knicks don't need that guy and I'd be shocked if he wasn't traded at the deadline for some asset. Basically, Knicks saw an opportunity and so they went for it. After they got called out, they made some dumb excuse about the Spurs allegedly doing some backyard talks with Porzingus. But we all know that's B.S. because he never came close to becoming a Spur. That's just NY's way of avoiding responsibility for interfering with another team's agreement.
I don't blame Paul and I don't blame Morris, he needs the money. But I do blame the Knicks. They know it was a guaranteed deal. Don't be surprised if they don't start a bad trend because of what they did.
Can't tell if everyone on the Knicks subreddit is delusional or that entire subreddit is satire?
Have you seen how they act at the nba draft year after year? One of the dumbest fan bases alive
Solid recap and all good points. The association is dissolving into a pick up game for s sake. It's weird how obsessive compulsive Adam Silver seems to be after seeing how loose he is letting get.
It's like a 12 year old boy loaded up on mountain dew making near sighted and indulgent moves in MyGM mode on 2k.
Marcus Morris named his middle finger "truth"?
I doubt the Spurs feel the same way, dumbass.
Anyone want to paste the article ? Thanks In advance
and (assistant GM) Brian Wright,” Morris told The Athletic. “The first thing that I did when I knew I would be going another direction, I called and made sure they knew. There was no shade. There’s no disrespect. I had great conversations afterward, and as long as I feel that I’m clear with them and gave them my truth, I feel good about moving forward.
“I was under the impression that I didn’t have anything left. I thought at the time that the Spurs deal was all that I had. The process wasn’t what I expected and it didn’t go the right way.”
Within the first two days of free agency, Morris had a fully negotiated three-year, $41 million offer from the LA Clippers and rejected the offer. Paul negotiated with Clippers officials and presented the deal to Morris. Once it was rejected, the Clippers moved on and traded for forward Moe Harkless prior to their acquisitions of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
Morris is set to enter his ninth NBA season and has established himself as a valuable rotation player, leader and veteran presence on winning teams. He was a key piece to consecutive playoff runs in Boston over the past two seasons, including the Eastern Conference Finals in 2018. Morris averaged nearly 13.9 points and 6.1 rebounds per game last season.
For the Knicks, Morris will provide stability and accomplished production from either forward position.
Morris has seen the speculation surrounding him turning down the Clippers’ three-year offer, but makes it clear that this was his decision and that he wanted to go through his process.
“All this stuff that (Paul) didn’t want me to go to the Clippers and didn’t want me to go against LeBron, that’s not true,” Morris said. “He never told me not to take the deal. For as long as I’ve known Rich — and that’s still someone I have love for and that’s still my guy — he has been great in terms of advice. He told me he wanted me to take the Clippers deal. He gave me his advice.
“It was my decision and I had to make the best decision for me and my family.”
With the Clippers’ offer no longer on the table, Morris felt his free agency went awry and agreed in principle to a two-year, $20 million contract (second-year player option) with the San Antonio Spurs on July 6. From the outset, Morris wanted more of a process in his free agency.
The Spurs needed to trade Davis Bertans to the Washington Wizards and give DeMarre Carroll a three-year, sign-and-trade deal — instead of a two-year agreement — to bring in Morris. His own team, the Boston Celtics, had moved past trying to bring him back, which made leverage hard to find.
Morris was scheduled to take a physical exam and sign his Spurs contract on July 7 in Las Vegas. The Knicks had their salary space of nearly $15 million reopen after medical issues with swingman Reggie Bullock’s two-year, $21 million deal and then had a recruitment period with Morris. Both sides shared mutual interest. Paul was not contacted as part of the new Knicks conversations and pushed Morris to honor his word with the Spurs. Morris accepted the Knicks deal later that week. He and Paul have parted ways cordially.
Morris says he also valued his family and the close proximity to his hometown Philadelphia as part of the reasons he chose New York. Morris spoke to Knicks coach David Fizdale and Spurs coach Gregg Popovich during the process.
“Pop and I had a long conversation about everything, not just basketball,” Morris told The Athletic. “I have a lot of love for that organization and the opportunity they were giving me to put on a Spurs jersey. That was part of my process. He was the only coach I spoke to besides coach Fiz.
“Playing close to home, being from Philly, I get to see my family a lot.”
This happens in free agency. It happened in 2015 when DeAndre Jordan backed out of his deal with the Dallas Mavericks to return to the Los Angeles Clippers. It even happened last summer when Nemanja Bjelica pulled out of a one-year, $4.4 million deal with the Philadelphia 76ers to sign a three-year, $20.5 million contract with the Sacramento Kings.
However, that it happens on occasion doesn’t make the decision easier for parties involved, in this case the integrity of teams, players and representation. Throughout the NBA — from teams to players, agents to the players union — there is always a fear about the precedent of backing out of a handshake contract and its impact. So much of the league is a verbal agreement.
That was tested this summer and will assuredly be again, unless a change is discovered.
Well I hope he enjoys playing with the other 5 PF on the roster as the Knicks cement themselves at the bottom of the standings...again
Yeah, but James Dolan plays blues music live during their practices...
So there's that.
Definitely a win then for Morris![]()
