That's sort of presuming GS is a strong 3. They're not, imo.
They won 73 games without Durant. Same core.

The premise was with Klay back. Then you have donkey, Curry and Klay. The other names are just players who got face time. Put other players around them and you'll have more face time names.

Take Tim, Tony and Manu... then you see the neophyte responses "yeah but they don't have Fabricio now" or "Finley left so they aren't good any more". It's never those guys and yet it's always those guys. The common factor is the big 3. If you can keep the core, you can put guys around them and the league is full of NBA level players, oddly enough.

They picked up D'Angelo Russell. He's a better player than Iggy, on offense.

Arguably when healthy, those guys are good for a 50 win season consistently. But do you really want to put them in the same class with Duncan, Manu and the other guy?

Iggy was a much more complimentary piece on offense while being the defender they relied on in the last five minutes of games.

Nope. Small ball literally can't end, since the mathematical advantage is too much for "big man" basketball to overcome. No le winning team since the 2014 Spurs featured a traditional 7 footer on the team in an important role. They'll have their role as the 4th/5th offensive option and a defensive presence, like Marc Gasol on the Raps. But the days of feeding the post and a great paint anchor spooking an opponent's offense are dead.

Only way to legitimately end small ball is to move back the 3 pt line and removing the corner 3 in the process.

Think it was Game 6 in Houston that the refs really had to go to work. They definitely gave the Dubs an assist in Game 7 too, though. Both games the Rockets should've still won, imo.

That remains to be seen. Iggy was good, then. Iggy wasn't in the last series.

This is why AD tries to shoot the 3. It's ing hilarious to see these 7 footers do that, and only Dirk and a couple others can get away with it. Even Dirk drifted away from it and developed that unstoppable one leg fade away.

The three-point shot is too rewarding to not take advantage of it. Only way 7-footers can become relevant again is if they can shoot the three and defend the perimeter. We would see more and more Kristaps as that's the type of big man mold that fits today's NBA. The days of Kendrick Perkins, Luc Longley, and Shaq are gone.

No. There's too much evidence that proves that offenses generally function more efficiently when initiated by a perimeter player and with lineups featuring a big wing ostensibly masquerading as the second big. Defenses generally function best with that alignment now too because of the premium on mobility.

But if ever bigs were going to reclaim some of their previous acclaim, this would be it. Davis, Embiid and some would say Jokic and Gobert, are all on contenders and are all either the co-best or clear best player on their respective teams.

Davis is the best of the bunch and playing with the best player of the bunch too. The Clippers have a better team, but an underwhelming interior. Prime Olajuwon/Duncan would swing this matchup. It'll be interesting to see if him, who's more like prime Robinson/Garnett, can.

Nah, at the end of the day, the teams fighting for all will be trotting out 4 perimeter players lineups in the 4th.
    No, they won't . . .

    - The Rockets always will

    - The Clippers mostly will

    - The Bucks and 76ers won't

    - The Lakers could go either way. Depends on how Cousins bounces back and/or if they're able to acquire Iguodala or an upgrade at PG at some point because if not and the former even somewhat happens, their best chance vs the Clippers will be to play big and force them adjust by closing with Green instead of Williams/Shamet.

    The Bucks won't?

Well, we can't keep this argument if you think Giannis is a traditional big, tbh.

I'd classify him as a big wing, but he's definitely the most traditional big like of them. Not only does he possess all the requisite physical dimensions of a traditional big, but he does most of his damage in their habitat. That offensively it mostly comes off of dribble penetration is obviously what differentiates him from them.
