    https://www.espn.com/chalk/story/_/i...-make-playoffs

tldr: Bettor placed $100,500 on 76ers to make any playoff seed to win $2,010.

This is the dumbest bet I have ever seen in my life. Essentially, 10 months of illiquidity and the reward does not justify the risk. He can put the money with AllyBank or some other high yield savings account and earn 2%, have full liquidity, and guaranteed cash. Couldn't believe this story when I read it.

Usually people with " you money" don't make moronic decisions with their money. This is so frustrating to me.

You're assuming it's someone who worked for his you money when it's probably the kid of someone who was rich.

Makes no sense. It's not even interesting. If you've got a ton of disposable cash and you want to have some fun, bet on Sacramento or Orlando making the playoffs-- at least that would carry some suspense.

A diversified dividend portfolio would be better; but he'll have much more fun watching Sixers games this way.
