All this and most of you still won't vote ("you" being the purported left. Lazy ters and snap chatters and such who lost to an orange reality TV show guy who said "grab them by the pussy").

...me too. But, at reality we both were pullin' in different directions, Winester. Today was your day. The kicker? I had a in' day there about 3 shots back where the black guy was the shooter, but, since CNN didn't take a fit, I didn't feel I was en led to take one. tee, hee.
Why should anybody "pull in different" directions in cases like these? Innocent people being shot is bad, no matter the color, creed, political view of the shooter. The reason debate can never move forward on these issues is because people are trying to score a "win" for their side rather than figure out how to solve the problem.

The solution is multifaceted and beyond a one-click solution like gun grabbing or raising your kids better. Unfortunately, nuanced debate doesn't make for good television or clickbait headlines.

Where were all the good guys with guns?
This is such bull reasoning by the right wing. People who carry do so for personal protection and protection of their families. Very few people, if any, are going to run into the line of fire of an AK with their little pocket 380. No, you get your family to safety. I'm not saying that nobody should be able to step up, but the vast majority of concealed permit holders have had the barest of minimum training.

Exactly, X. One would have to take a long shot. One would have to ascertain the certainty of the bad guy ID. No, that's on TV. TV ain't like life. That's why it's TV.

Why should I ing carry a gun? It's so uncomfortable...it occupies too much space. The only thing I carry is my ID, credit card and tiny iPhone. Some people don't like guns. Period. These right-wingers talk about "freedom" yet wanna force teachers and average citizens to carry guns. Idiots.

I've no problem with that as long as it's voluntarily and they actually are trained. But if a gunman can enter a ing Walmart of all places without fear of return fire, then a few armed school teachers aren't going to bother them.

We will only be truly safe from gun violence when every man, woman and child has a gun.

You wouldn't have to carry a gun. Just stop standing in the way of potential protectors who are willing to responsibly carry, "idiot".

The gun problem is secondary to the radicalization of angry white men problem at this point. That should be the focus.

Oh okay, makes sense now. Eveybody at Walmart was getting in the way of responsible gun owners, that's why they never got a shot off. Our well regulated militia never got a clear shot.

I get it, you just want to see media seethe (but don't you like it when "your" media seethes, as well?. Fox News is just a different side of that same media coin. Hannity is just as phony as the rest of em, with his 40 million per year salary). But bringing your hatred of media into real life discussion with real American citizens just guarantees further entrenchment on either side. Debate has devolved into antagonizing the opponent rather than coherent talk about solutions.

That was my primary fear when Trump got elected. His rhetoric stirred up a very angry sentiment in his "base," and believe it or not, rhetoric from leaders can influence. To balance my criticism, Trump was able to stir through his rhetoric because of how suffocatingly politically correct the left has gotten over the years. Combine all this with a 24/7 news cycle (Fox News talks about illegal immigration about 80 percent of the time, echoing Trump's rhetoric) and social media (twitter, the chans, the darker parts of reddit), and you have a recipe for radicalization.
