Correct. I wouldn't put this in the same category as the El Paso and Ohio shootings.
I call them all mass shootings.
In addition, I call the El Paso incident domestic terrorism.
I don't have enough information to further classify any of the other shootings.

Nothing pisses me off more than when people deflect from what is clearly a case of cold blooded murder from a disgruntled psycho and try to equate that event with what is gang violence. Are both tragic? Yes. But gang violence and mass shootings have two completely different motivations and thus potential solutions. Deflecting with, "But all the murders in Chicago!" is a in' non-sequitur to the debate at hand. If you want to talk about solutions for gang violence, have a separate debate about it.

There's one truth spoken. At least when you scorecard morbidity, you're not disingenuous about why you're score boarding. Most of the people here do the same, just refuse to admit it because they're "good people" using these atrocities to mock others.

You frame everything as a compe ion. Mass shootings and gang violence are motivated by different components and thus are separate debates. It'd be like me telling a person who is calling out rampant gang violence, "Yeah, but all the mass shootings!"
My solution to gang violence is provable. Remember when the Irish and Italians were warring over the prohibition racket? Once prohibition was repealed, the crime levels fell significantly. These gangs are warring over the drug markets. Legalize drugs, regulate it, and tax it, and you'll see inner city gang violence decline similarly.
