But, every little bit helps, that's the tact that Trump ins uted. "Lodge a rebuttal, something, anything to blunt an inroad."

Before we had to depend on Media (friend OR foe) to construct & conduct the battlefield. Not anymore, not since Trump. Like I said the other day:::He showed us how to fight back. Those people at his rallies had always been decapitated by Media, had absolutely no image, no voice. They now have an image, a means to retain it & a voice channeled for & thru the old man. & Media knows it; they just can't figure a way around it. They'd like to have gov't run it ("Twitter") but then that would hinder them once, if ever they (Media) figure a way to get on top of "Twitter."

Media gave Trump more free advertising than any other candidate, and it wasn't particularly close.

But either way, if I wanted to hear what trump said, I'd go to his twitter and read it directly. Couldn't care less about his cheerleaders clapping like seals (no offense, Mr. Castleberry).

Agreed, & they regret that decision. But, they figured they'd get (even) on the other side of that 1st Tuesday, again (2 bites at the apple)...laud Her 24/7/365 & the 2nd bite: tease & torment Him & Us 24/7/365 that WE weren't President. They get no bites now. They attack him 24/7/365, but, at the end of every one of those 365 days a year He's President. & He & They know it. Is (that) enough for Him? Unfortunately (no). One can't fill that cup of bile, of vengeance. There is a small hole in the bottom of it that keeps leaking. Dollars to donuts He drilled that hole. Or, perhaps Mr. Castleberry did both our cups, eh?

Being against Trump might not be enough. Dems should try being for something this time around. The wonky, incrementalist talk from Biden, Booker and Harris could fail to inspire voters to get off the couch.
Being against Hillary was enough in 2016.

I'm not saying anti-Trump should be the primary Democrat message in 2020, but none of the candidates will be as bipartisanly loathed as she was...

...unless liberals continue to do the RNC's work for them by pushing this "Biden is basically Trump" notion that seems to have appeared out of thin air this year, even though he was a largely popular Vice President for 8 years.

Disagree, there was much more to Trump's emotional connection with voters: celebrity, wealth, racism, xenophobia, sadistic cruelty, misogyny and contempt for democratic process/ins utions.

If the Dems nominate someone who can't inspire the base they're in trouble.

What's ao great about Biden? Does he excite you?

I think you underestimate the number of people who held their noses to vote for Trump because they were lifelong Republicans who hate Clinton. Surely you aren't suggesting every Trump voter was drawn to the sadism and cruelty. How many conservatives do you know?

Trump's approval ratings were terrible among Republicans during the primaries, but increased with that group once he was the nominee. Why? His message didn't change. Did half of Republicans come to love the xenophobia, or did they register approval of him (and then vote for him) merely as a contrast to Clinton? How many Republicans do you recall thought he would mellow out once he was President? Almost all of the ones I know felt that way.

What's ao great about Biden? Does he excite you?
I've never said anything was great about him. He doesn't excite me in any way except that his victory would represent a change from the current POTUS. I feel that way about every viable Democratic candidate, and I think you guys underestimate how many people feel passionately this way as well.
