The open carrying of firearms is legal in Missouri, as long as the weapon is not displayed in a threatening manner, according to the National Rifle Association’s website
I hope the "good fireman with a gun" is arrested for unlawful detention

When the right cites these instances, they do in intellectual dishonestly, as if to say, "See, more good guys with a gun will reduce these events! Gun control not needed!" I think most gun control advocates wouldn't object to:

    - A fireman (typically responsible citizens) carrying a weapon.
    - The carrying of handguns as personal defense weapons (if you without a doubt prove yourself responsible).

We can actually flip it and say the good guy with a gun didn't need an AR-15 with a 100 round drum mag to stop the situation. In any event, this situation still illustrates that yet another disgruntled individual obtained possession of an AR-15 and a very high capacity magazine.

Im thinking the way to go here for a nut case is to conceal, pretend you are threatened, pull the gun and fire away?
Or not depending on your mood and if you can really carry through. Maybe you run a few trials.
Any rules on limits of ammo one can have on their person while... shopping for ammo at Walmart?
One stop shopping at its finest.

Yeah, ElNono and Gardn masterfully flipped here. If people possessing AR-15s and 100 round drum mags aren't an issue, why was our "good guy with a gun" so concerned by a fellow citizen freely exercising his 2nd Amendment right? And if carrying an AR-15/possessing a 100 drum mag in public is against the law in Missouri, prompting our good guy into action, then obviously Missouri lawmakers see AR-15s differently than 9mm handguns.

This situation seems to more prove the gun control (not "gun grabbing") advocate side than the other way around.

And let's be fair here, it wasn't like the shooter was raising his rifle and then our hero drew on him and diffused the situation. The guy was walking through Walmart for a bit, causing a panic, before the intervention.

The man was pushing a cart and recording himself walking through the store with a cell phone when the manager pulled the fire alarm to notify customers to escape, according to CNN affiliate KYTV.

"All we know is the fact that he walked in here heavily armed with body armor on, in military fatigues and caused a great amount of panic inside the store. So he certainly had the capability the potential to harm people," Lucas said.
    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/ar...cid=spartanntp

Who knows how many he could've claimed if that was really his intent. I'm thinking, since he had out his cell phone, he was yet another incel who was looking to emulate New Zealand and had second thoughts, or maybe he was doing some loony protest experiment to prove a point about how easy it is to walk into a public establishment armed to the teeth.

Our hero was waiting outside, only after our 2nd Amendment warrior left the store did he intervene

    Gun laws in Missouri

    Open carry

Missouri allows open carry without a permit, so long as the firearm is not displayed in an angry or threatening manner.[20]

    Some localities prohibit open carry;

however, concealed carry license holders are exempted from this restriction.
    [21]

Missouri does not prohibit the open carry of any specific weapon,

nor do most of the restrictions in RSMo 571.030 apply to the open carry of a firearm or other weapon.

It is not a crime under Missouri law to openly carry a weapon into any place where concealed carry is prohibited,

except for a church, school bus, school, or onto the grounds of a school function.

According to RSMo Section 571.030, there is no age limit to openly carry a handgun, long gun or any deadly weapon.

I can see a level of value to it; and I respect the people's right to make their own laws.

    Dat some Blake Zero .

Open carry doesn't mean non-concealed, dip . And certainly there are restrictions on open carry as it applies to assault weapons, too.

I did use the term open carry when I meant concealed carry. I was unaware that Missouri is open carry; I figured they had went with the trend to stop open carry; but they haven't.

So, is your contention that this guy was in full compliance with all gun laws?

They don't want to end up like Diblasio in New York,,,with his troops turning their backs on him.

I done warned the old man Tuesday morning this is precisely what will happen if he signs it.

Instead put that red flag happy horse up there. The SC will strike that down faster than Leonard left Texas.

reasons? $10Ms from NRA/BigGun, and NRA's influence on the voting of its gun-fellating sheeple

Just one of 1000s of examples where the oligarchy buys and operates govt to enable/protect/increase its profits.

some corrupt lawyer would come up with the argument that b/g check limits a person's exercise of his 2nd Amendment rights to access guns.

Felons can get guns, but in many states, they can't vote EVER.
