He ‘knows where lots of Trump bodies are buried’: Ex-Mueller associate says president’s latest dissension spells trouble

President Donald Trump has reportedly fallen out with a decades-long friend,

private equity real estate investor Tom Barrack,

who is currently the focus of a federal investigation into how the money from Trump’s inaugural fund was raised and spent.

On Monday, former federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner laid out a key reason why Trump may want to distance himself from Barrack at this point

    if Barrack cooperates with prosecutors,

it is anyone’s guess what information he could reveal against the president

which, if it transpires that he or his
family members had any role in the misconduct, could have implications beyond mere embarrassment for the president.

Will Barr shut down investigation of Barrack?

In Economic Warning Signals, Trump Sees Signs of a Conspiracy

what is by now a familiar response: lashing out at what he believes is a conspiracy of forces arrayed against him.

He has insisted that his own handpicked Federal Reserve chair, Jerome H. Powell, is intentionally acting against him.

He has said other countries, including allies, are working to hurt American economic interests.

And he has accused the news media of trying to create a recession.

insisting that his critics are trying to take away what he sees as his calling card for re-election.

Mr. Trump has been agitated in discussions of the economy, and

by the news media’s reporting of
    warnings of a possible recession.

He has said forces that do not want him to win

have been overstating the damage his trade war has caused,

Trump Moves To Legalize Housing Discrimination Against Women, People Of Color, and The Disabled

The Trump administration is proposing a rule change that would make it virtually impossible to prove housing discrimination against women, people of color, and the disabled.

    The new rule would

dramatically shift the burden of proof to the plaintiff in housing discrimination cases, making such lawsuits “impossible,”

Under HUD’s proposed rule, this three-step process is scrapped for

a five-step burden of proof that falls almost entirely on the plaintiff,

who would have to show that the policy:

    is “arbitrary, artificial, and unnecessary;”

    has a “robust casual link” with disparate impact on a protected class;

    causes a “significant” adverse effect on members of a protected class;

is directly linked to the disparate impact in the plaintiff’s “alleged injury.”

    The proposal also carves out

new defenses for landlords and lenders who use algorithmic models to determine factors like credit-worthiness or risk.

Defendants can have a disparate impact case dismissed if they can show that the inputs of the model are not highly correlated to protected class, or if the algorithm was generated by a third party.

If the third party tests the algorithm for fairness and rules it fair, the defendant is shielded from liability in disparate impact cases.

“This proposed rule would eviscerate the key protections of the Fair Housing Act, and make it virtually impossible for communities of color to prevail in lawsuits challenging housing discrimination,”

Trump is trying to take America back to the 1950s. He wants to make it more difficult for minorities to rent or buy their own homes.

    Trump has news for Americans:

    'They're loaded up with money'

the self-proclaimed "king of debt" has news for you.

    "Our consumers are rich,"

Donald Trump said Sunday, ever in touch with the financial well-being of everyday Americans.

"I gave a tremendous tax cut, and they’re loaded up with money."

only some 20% of Americans told polling firms earlier this year that they believed their taxes had actually been cut by the GOP law.

Just because some 40% of households can't come up with $400 to pay for an unexpected expense,

who's to say they're not as "rich" as Trump says?

Donald Trump, Larry Kudlow and Peter Navarro are about as prepared as Moe, Larry and Curly to deal with a financial crisis at this level.

Trump has been like a wrecking ball in a global economy already teetering on the precipice of recession.

Trump Delay Casts Doubt on First Major U.S. Offshore Wind Farm

The Trump administration cast the fate of the nation’s first major offshore wind farm into doubt by extending an environmental review for the $2.8 billion Vineyard Wind project off Massachusetts.

The Interior Department has ordered an additional study of the farm, proposed by Avangrid Inc. and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, Interior Secretary David Bernhardt said in an interview with Bloomberg News Friday.

The project, which has drawn opposition from fishermen and coastal communities, had been scheduled to be operational by early 2022.

The developers have warned that regulatory delays could put it in jeopardy.

The project south of Martha’s Vineyard is crucial to the future of offshore wind in the U.S.

    It’s the first of several
massive wind farms planned off the East Coast. Massachusetts, New York, Maine and New Jersey are all counting on turbines at sea to achieve aggressive clean energy targets.

Their efforts are expected to spur an estimated $70 billion offshore wind industry in the U.S. over the next decade.

a lower-than-expected price that encouraged other states to map out plans for offshore wind. That cost, however, hinged on a lucrative tax credit. The company may not be eligible to claim it if construction is delayed too long.
