No reason why he can't be similar to what Steve Kerr was for the Spurs his last year here. If he takes a minimum contract, or close to minimum, and can come in off the bench when called for and hit shots while still being cold, if he has the ability to do something similar to that, then I wouldn't have a problem bringing him back. Seems like a good guy.
    Agree

    Two things:

Belinelli realizes his value is only a 12-15 man on any given NBA team.
Belinelli realizes this Spurs team can do something special in the next 2-3 years

We should all be excited and hope for a great year because if the young guys can gel with LMA/Gay/Derozan this year we will be contending for along time in the future!

Euros don't scream about playing time and wanting a trade as much as some of the spoiled USA players even when they do. Beli is doing the team player thing and will be fine whether he stays or goes.

We could use his shooting as long as he's not guaranteed a spot in the rotation I don't hate it. I mean ideally we'd weed him out with all the young guys but I could also see shooting being an issue during the season and etc. and us needing him to play at times.

My guess is that it takes two teams to make a deal, and no other team is willing to give up something the Spurs want. Beli is certainly expendable though.

No info as to why it didn't or hasn't happened. My guess is that the whole Morris backing out of the agreement had something to do with it.

Of course. We have soooo many shooters, we certainly don't need Beli. Let's sign another fart like Metu or Lavergne instead: big time shooters in their prime, right?

Performance in one series (vs a very good RS) has nothing to do with basketball IQ. He didn't put down a dumb gameplan, somebody else did.

He had an excellent season, WTF you talking about? he had a bad PO series. Nothing to do with IQ.

    Good luck with Walker then....

With Patty and Forbes, you have some 3pt shooters. We need the roster spot to take a look at our youngsters

i'm just not excited about seeing him lob 3pt shots anymore off a 1 footed fade away. he did that crap too much last season even though he hit a majority of those shots.

The thing about piss poor form in pretty much any sport is that it tends to fail under pressure.

so if we lose belli and bert - how many 3 pointers did they make last season between the two of them?
we have to replace those right? we're already towards the bottom of the league in that regard
    idk boys

You're 100% right. They had about 300 of the team's 800 three pointers between them. Forbes and Patty had 335 together, and people here want the Spurs to get rid of both of them too.

I just did a quick sort. There were only 19 players in the league with more 3-pointers than Forbes last season. Mills was 34th on the list, and Belli was 45th.
Losing Bertans was a big 3P hit for this team. They can't afford to lose any of the other three, without someone else to pick up a lot of slack.
